Regarding adoption, I absolutely agree that it is criminal to prevent a black child from being adopted by a white couple, especially as there are far more white than black prospective adoptive couples. Playing race games while letting a child sit in the foster system is criminal.
Oliver is lying through her teeth. There are a good number of black prospective adoptive parents. However, black parents are just like white parents in wanting healthy babies. As soon as the focus turns to older kids or sibling groups, the number of parents of any race drops off. (I can’t say that I blame them; bringing a child into your home is scary enough without bring home kids who have already developed problems.) If a black child is welcomed by a white couple, there should be no bar to that adoption except a qualified relative stepping forward.

I’m posting this link a basically a demonstration concerning my beliefs that many Black people want to be equal but separate and that my views are not all that nuts.
I wish to install a disclaimer here pointing out that I do not hold with any racist group nor have the radical hatred that such groups promote. I did peruse this site and found much to be exaggerated, much deliberately out of context and much that I do not agree with. However, this link concerning the television shows is about the best and most illustrating that I could agree with.
I do not suggest perusing the rest of the site because if I found it offensive and heavily racial, just think what you will discover. Plus I DON’T WANT TO START HAVING PEOPLE COMPARING ME TO THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF SUCH SITES!

For instance, they say that those black faces were all captured on TV within “about an hour”, but the captions and programs range from wake up shows to morning talk shows to the evening news. There are 3 black faces shown from commercials. How many white faces do you think were in the commercials all day on the umpteen cable channels represented? Even in one or two hours? PUH-LEAZE.
As I scrolled further down the NAAWP TV page, I found a few of your other arguments that have been presented in this thread - Black Miss America, Ebonics, etc. If anyone compares you with the membership of this organization, Sentinel, it is because you represent yourself as resembling a member and represent their crap as fact.

What the hell? Did you read the article? It stated that according to the same “black activist group”, the National Association for Black Social Workers, the agency in question’s “transracial adoption rate exceeds the national average of 3.6 percent of all adoptions”. This case is going to court and is going to be settled, hopefully without ANY discrimination against anyone.
I think you have missed the boat as well, Reilly. The point that most of the people have tried to make in this thread is that there IS discrimination. The above referenced social worker is participating in it, too. It’s WRONG, no matter who the target of the discrimination is. It’s a useless, evil thing to act on and to perpetuate. Taking the extreme counterpoint of resenting entire groups of people is simply committing the same evil. And it’s boring.
It’s perpetuated by saying things like, “Black women are looking good these days”, without qualifying the obvious change in societal perspective that makes this observation acceptable to state publicly. If things go the way you want them to, there will be less of this type of acceptance, not more.

John Rocker, the poor guy, simply told the truth and he got nailed by the Blacks and the Mass Media. Then, he got “punished”. No wonder there is no true dialogue among the races. President Clinton stated, ‘there will not be any true dialogue until one can freely exercise their first amendment rights without fear of economic retaliation (lost of job) or social rebuke by the mass media and Black Organizations.’
In addition, how about Dennis Rodman, Charles Barkley, and other Black Athletes making disparaging comments about Whites and the reaction at best is a peep from the news media and antidiscrimination organizations!
Where is the outcry from American Black Organizations, American Corporations, American Universities, American local jurisdictions, and the American States and Federal Government over the Blacks in Zimbabwe taking land, raping, pillaging, assaulting Whites? (Who total 1% of the population.) Where is there the threat of economic boycott, not allowing American investments, etc.? Why was South Africa treated differently and not Zimbabwe?
There is a double standard. Whites are expected throughout the World to jump over a higher bar than Blacks. Well, I do not hear a cry of outrage from the NAACP and Other Black Organizations over the the barbarian acts of Blacks in Zimbabwe. However, let the Whites in South Africa do the same and then we will hear a chorus of discrimination and how Whites hate Blacks.

Standard American English is also a dialect. All five of them. So is Standard Canadian English, Standard British English, and any other form of Standard you would care to mention. There is no such thing as a speaker of English who does not speak a dialect.
