Actually, since it is the underlying assumption of the OP, I’m going to demand a cite for the proposition that rapists as a rule lack the opportunity for non-coercive sex.
Here’s the thing, though. Once you’ve robbed the bank, the money is exactly the same as any other money. Nobody has a preference for stolen money.
Rape is pretty darn different than sex with a consenting and enthusiastic partner. Sex with someone drugged to unconsciousness is so different than normal sex that I think most guys would find it unappealing.
But some people specifically search out rape, and prefer it over normal sex. It’s not just about being horny, it’s about being specifically sexually gratified by violating people.

Most people have fetishes that would be traumatic to an unwilling partner, but most people don’t act on them unless they have a willing partner. Either Cosby got off on the power of violating someone or he has a fetish for screwing unconscious women and didn’t care if he was hurting them. Either way, it doesn’t answer my question about whether escorts offer those kinds of services.
It doesn’t matter really if he’s got a fetish, he’s also a rapist (assuming the claims are true). So he’s either a rapist or a rapist with a fetish, and I don’t care about the fetish part. I suppose there are prostitutes who’d be willing to do a threesome where their friend stayed conscious. Somewhere you can find one that will do almost anything for the right price. But nothing would keep the prostitutes quiet if they wanted to extort some money from him or get their 15 minutes, not to mention all the people he’d have to talk in order to find a prostitute like that. So instead he rapes young ambitious women who for several reasons don’t want to come forward.

This is I think why people found this so hard to understand. Whether the girls were mistresses/escorts he paid directly a small fee to, or girls who were attracted to his charm and also hoping he’d eventually marry them (and therefore be entitled to half of many millions of dollars, paying for sex upfront is much cheaper…), he’d never run out.
Why would he risk some terrible crime, instead? What if a woman overdosed on the drugs and died? What if he were caught in the act? Many of the women described finding him in his bathrobe and themselves undressed, why didn’t they have a rape kit collected?
So you have a person who had a trivially available alternative, risking prison time instead. Hard to see why he’d do that - so people have been reluctant to believe the accusers.
For that matter, didn’t he give the women muscle relaxants…Most men complain if a woman is too loose.
Some of the prostitutes I’ve worked with (right here on the streets of KCMO, as it happens) are just that desperate that if a John offered them enough money, they would do it. Upside is, they make a lot of money. Downside is, they go to sleep and don’t have to wake up to their drug addiction, HIV+ status, homelessness…you see.
My guess – though, not being a rapist myself, I can but speculate – is that he didn’t want to have sex with lots of women, he wanted to have sex with these women. And as a Famous Person, he figured they’d say yes sooner or later, he was just saving time.
I don’t think we need a cite to show that Cosby, a wealthy, attractive, powerful, suave man, could get consensual sex. Maybe not with every woman who caught his fancy. But there’s zero chance that he was frustrated because he couldn’t get any.
