Wow. You didn’t even read my post, did you? I proved your point? By saying I know women across the spectrum of both orientation and attractiveness?
Those words… I don’t think they mean what you think they mean…

I wouldn’t say it’s true of most American women in general. I doubt that there’s much of that going on in Wichita, Kansas, for example.
In the glam crowd, I would guess half the women have had at least one lesbian experience. Tough to put a number on this, though. There are the women that I know have dated women, women who have had the occasional fling, and then there are the ones that I don’t know about one way or the other. No way to prove a negative.
So you’re saying Madonna is straight although she dates women and identifies as bi? :smack: teenage girls copy they’re favorite celeb. Why do you think fashion trends start with tv? I won’t find the survey again. I tried before to find it but it was probably not well known nor legitimate. You debunked it.
And no, he’s saying women m entertainment as well as women in careers end up doing this. You,think he last words of soccer moms applies to celebrities?
So you’re saying it only doesn’t happen in religious, conservative places then? Wouldn’t that mean it happens to most then? Also, I’m curious about the men there also. Des this “down low” business happen there also, with men?I’ce heard so much about it lately I’d like to hear from someone in the business.
Wait, so are we talking about women in the entertainment industry or all women who have careers in all industries? The majority of women in your 18-25 range are not in careers yet anyway. So which subset of the population are you trying to make stand in for ‘all women’ here?
I’m not sure how you became an expert in what I hear and see, but again: just because you see something a couple of times doesn’t mean it’s true for huge numbers of people. That ought to be common sense.
Why would you believe that, though? Because that’s what you and a few friends think you’re seeing in women your own age?
The facts say otherwise.
If they don’t admit it and don’t act on it, in what way are they bi?
I can find one woman she dated about 25 years ago. She’s dated dozens of men and married two. Does that sound like a bisexual to you, or someone who tried it once/a few times?
Again, you either completely misunderstood what he said, or you want it to mean something else. He’s been pretty specific about what he actually said. Read this carefully:
Women in the glam industry and women on the periphery of the glam industry (meaning they’re trying to get into it). Not “women with careers.” Women with one type of career and women who are trying to make a living with the same career. Get it?
No…by saying it was mpcommon in your college days as well…meaning older women re just as bi as younger ones. The sterotyping of straight women being ugly is proven by belowjob.
Your first point makes sense.
No, because many of the posters in here say it was common in the past with them as well. They proved my experience. You jut agreed with me in your last post. They are bi since the desire is there, and apparently they do act on it.
Also, for what it’s worth, that vast majority of women I know in the Chicago entertainment industry are straight (actors, mostly). And, as I said, ranging in attractiveness from average to very attractive.
That said, yeah, the entertainment industry is of a liberal bent, which means very few actors would have qualms about playing a gay or bisexual character, regardless of their own real life orientation. The stigma has been fading, even for men. What you see on the TV is not a reflection of their true sexual identity. They’re performers, they’re acting. That’s their job. It sells, and therefore makes them money.
:smack: I’m sorry but dating a woman in the past and kissing women now makes one bi. If you are a woman who has done this it’s okay as we’ll, but don’t kid yourself. If I date a guy right now, and then go back to girls later, but still think about guys and kiss them on occasion, am I still straight! According to you I would be? Look, I’m snot sure what you.'re getting at here by claiming most women have flings, but still most women aren’t bi.
And belowjob was pretty blatant in his post: entertainment women, and career women.
Here’s a typical scene in my town, which is something of a lesbian mecca. And another. Hubba hubba!
Proving my point that you did not, in fact, read my post. I said they were not queer. They were pretending, so they could get laid by men.
I also said it wasn’t common when I was in college, just starting to become so when I left. Your reading comprehension is severely lacking, kid.
A great deal of America is fairly religious and conservative. I don’t see most American women going bi. Perhaps most have had a lesbian fantasy or two, but they won’t act on them. In an atmosphere where they’re free to pursue it, and even encouraged to do so, it’s different.
The down low is a subject for another thread, but sure, there are and always have been a substantial number of closeted male stars. Full Service tells how it was then, which is pretty much how it is now.
She dated one woman 25 years ago and kissed one woman on TV as part of a performance, for publicity, almost 10 years ago. That’s one relationship and one that was pretend. I don’t think that counts for much.
I didn’t say most women have flings. Do you think I said that, or are you just trying desperately to pretend I agree with you?
Quoting again:
Nothing about “career women.” That wouldn’t even make sense. He’s talked about one industry and said elsewhere that he’s not talking about everybody.
By straight, you mean identify as straight, and in a het relationship?
Would you say that the vast majority of actresses in the Chicago theater scene have never had a lesbian affair, have never dated a woman. Not challenging your experience, I just find it surprising.
Pretnending is still bi, sorry. Maybe in your world where women pretend can still be straight but in mine and reality it isn’t. How do you know they didn’t just pretend to be straight until then? And you can’t take back your words, you said it was getting more common in your days, meaning it was becoming more and more common when it was common already.
And actors and would-be actors are often uncommonly good looking. Who woulda thunk it?
You think they a straight but they aren’t. Like belowjob said, it’s secretive.
Another fact that may interest you. Harrison Ford really is both an archaeologist and a space-ship pilot.
This reminds of a time when my other half was playing some FPS online…one guy on the map was fixated on lesbians and kept saying things like:
LESBIANS WHERE ARE THE LESBIANS
I WANT SOME LESBIANS
BRING ME THE LESBIANS
And nothing else. Now I guess in this FPS a majority of people have to vote to switch maps, or some such, and this guy was a holdout…so they kept trying to entice him to switch maps, until someone said
THERE ARE LESBIANS IN THE NEXT MAP DUDE
And lo! The guy voted to switch immediately.
OP, are you that guy, seeing lesbians everywhere?
