Are their procedures/??? for dealing with farts in enclosed spaces (e.g. subs)?

Just saw an article about food constraints on the Space Station and got to wondering…In enclosed spaces like that (submarines and ???), do they adjust the food supply to help the situation? Are you supposed to go to a DFA (designated farting area) or what?

Hmm. Don’t know about subs, but my brother supervises a clean room at a semiconductor facility, and he says when an employee lets one rip they sometimes have to evacuate the room and pump out the, err, offending gases, in order to preserve the proper environment  And good luck getting some one to 'fess up. Perhaps they need a DFA!

That is the funniest thing I’ve read in a week. I’d love to know how they write the smelly semiconductors off on the debit sheet: “CbCC – Corned Beef and Cabbage Contamination?”

Oh, heck. I’m a parent, and can tell you all they need to assign blame for this situation is a quorum of nine-year-olds. Maybe my twins have a high-tech job in their future after all!
