Are there any foods you absolutely hate, but it seems like you are the only one?

Oh where to begin -
seafood - any kind
mayonaisse
mustard
salsa
guacamole
turkey
nuts
chocolate and fruit together
cheesecake that is not completely plain New York cheesecake (chocolate cheesecake? ewww)
raspberries
hummus
melons
salad dressing
beer
Asian food
pickles
and that’s off the top of my head…if i think about it, there’s more.

Shrimp, or any seafood. Most people drool at the thought of shrimp, I gag.

well, I’m glad to see that other folks hate mayo. gross.

I guess I will be the first to say pesto makes me gag. The smell is nice, but the taste (shudder)

Mushrooms.
Calamari.
Tapioca.
Nutmeg.

Banana-flavored anything (except for actual bananas). The other night, some folks were drooling over banana cream pie. Where’s that barfing smilie when I need it?

Amen brother. I am on a personal crusade against cilantro.

I really think there must be some sort of recessive gene that creates a different taste receptor for this stuff. To me, my dad and my sister, and a lot of other people it tastes like you seasoned the food with old spice, there is no possible way that it can taste the same to anybody who likes it.

I wish to god chefs would figure out how many people loath the hellish stuff and quit trying to throw it in everything. And if someone asks for no cilantro in the meal don’t throw it in and say you didn’t. I can smell and taste the stuff from 100 paces.

Coconut
Lima beans - evil, pasty chunks of disgust
Garlic

Licorice
Peaches
Zucchini
Sweet Potatoes
Yams
Carrots
Beets
Popcorn
Sweet pickles
Any fruit that comes in a can. Canned fruit tastes like tin.
:barfing smilie:

lotta barfing going on in this thread…

I absolutely loathe cucumbers. And marrows and courgettes. And celery. Urgh. But I love pickled gherkins! So it’s not all bad news!

scrambled eggs:p

Well, I don’t absolutely hate cheesecake adulterated with other things, but cheesecake is best experienced in its purest form, so I agree with you there.

Personally, I have a deep-seated aversion to tomato sauce…

Oh, another one…
I like tomatoes; tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, even good raw beefsteak tomatoes (not those nasty pink grocery store things, though), but I truly hate marinara sauce.

Ok, eggs as ingredients in baking, etc, recipes in general are fine.
But just eggs? Eeeeeewwww. Fried, scrambled, whatever - it’s just gross.

I’m also really not that fond of tuna fish. Nor potato salad. Mayo is bad enough, but sweetened mayo with potatoes? Gag me with a spoon. Come to think of it, mayo is good with one thing: chicken salad. I will only have it on a sandwich if I can’t obtain oil.

I’m going to second Algernon’s vote for popcorn.

Ugh! I swallow one piece and I can feel it absorbing all the moisture in my body.

Good Lord is there a recipe where this all goes together?

No. I was just being funny.

Glad to see I’m not so alone in despising mayonaisse. I wonder if we’re truly a minority?

A few others come to mind - cheesecake, potato salad, and cole slaw.

Bananas
Milk
Pie (apple pie especially. GROSS!!!)
cucumbers
pickles

Baby Corn :o

Dill

Okra

Shellfish is the vilest thing in the universe. Why do people pay all that money for something that tastes like it’s been our in the sun for a week?

Seafood. Any variety. I it swims of spent time in the water, I’ll pass. I guess I’ve never tried water buffalo though, it could be an exception

Reeses Peanut Butter cups (weird, because I don’t mind normal peanut butter)
