(…and is there anyone that doesn’t particularly like the THX sound? Maybe it’s just me?!)
Metastaseis by Iannis Xenakis.
I don’t care for the THX sound. I liked the spoof in Tiny Toons Adventure: a horrible long wailing blasting screech, followed by the slogan, “The Audience Is Now Deaf.”
I love the calliope!
I’m also very fond of the sound of a singer doing a duet with himself/herself, using overdubbing. It’s really nifty, and kind of eerie.
And I can’t be the only one here who remembers “Susan Swivelhips” and “BOING!”
TIE fighters.
The opening to Billy Joel’s* Miami 2017* sounds suspiciously similar, and he wrote it in 1976. Not to mention the ending to the Beatles’ A Day in the Life, of course.
“Deep Note” didn’t come along until 1983.
