Are There Really Hidden Cameras In Japanese Women's Restrooms?

My favorite porn site often recommends “hidden camera” videos inside Japanese women’s restrooms, for those who get off on watching women piss/shit. Hey, I don’t judge. But my question is, are there really producers installing hidden cameras in women’s restrooms in Japan? Or are the models consenting and being paid, and the “hidden camera” aspect is just marketing?

And if the answer to the first part of the question is “yes, it’s real,” is the Japanese government trying to put a stop to it?

There are hidden cameras in American bathrooms sometimes. If it was legal (here or elsewhere) they wouldn’t have to be hidden.

(Recent case Google turned up.)

Yes, they’d have to be hidden because, legal or not, women wouldn’t use the bathroom if they knew the camera was there.

I’ve heard there’s a genuine problem with spy cameras in Korea.

Why is this in CS?

Wasn’t sure where else to put questions about porn.

This is a question about criminal sexual behavior.

Unless it’s not a thread about criminal sexual behavior. It’s possible that some fraction of these videos are staged, with women who know they are being filmed and consent, presumably in exchange for being paid. And it’s possible that that fraction is most or almost all such videos. Which is what the OP is asking about.

Bump with relevant news story:

There may be legal grounds for Amazon to be held liable, knowing what the hidden cameras are likely to be used for.

Those cameras are still for sale, despite the legal issues they’re facing.
