I am not now nor have I ever been a poster anyone would want to get to know better. I’m your quintessential middle-of-the-roader (no pun on my user name intended). I don’t have the least number of posts, but nowhere near the most; I’m sure I’ve annoyed various people here, but not pissed off huge hoards and been burned into anyone’s memory; I’ve received, I think, a couple of praises for nice posts over the years, but never made it into the territory of awesomely memorable posts; I’ve been posting for years, but take a poll of how many readers recognize my user name, and the number would likely be zero (ok, maybe two). I’m just kinda Mr. Joe Average (hey, now there’s a catchy new user name).
Though I’ve been around since the Straight Dope’s Big Bang, I’ve remained one of the most unpopular members. Especially in IMHO and BBQP.

On this board? Probably not. I’m at about the median intelligence for this crowd, so I don’t stand out. I’m neither far left or far right leaning. I don’t have any causes to crusade or torches to bear. I’m not antisocial, but not a socialite, either. I’m not beautiful, but I don’t scare small children with my hideous demeanor. In fact, I’m about middle of the road for just about everything. I don’t stand out. That comes in handy at times.

Had I known otherwise, I would have put lemon juice on the end of my sharp stick to dissuade them. Far as I can tell, though, no.

Ah, a perfect thead for a perpetual lurker. At least if I never post, I can delude myself with the belief that people would want to know me better if I posted more. Or maybe I will just believe that everyone right now thinks I’m alluring and mysterious. Less work for me.
Not only do people not want to get to know me better, they actually cross the street when they see me coming so as to avoid the possibility of getting to know me better by accident.
