I’m having a lonely time of discovering how to be by myself again so I know where you’re coming from.
I just moved to Chicago. The opportunities I have here are orders of magnitude greater than the opportunities I had in That-Place-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. I’m gonna’ jump out of a plane in T - 5 days. I’m very excited. I hope to be SCUBA diving in the Gulf this May if I can come up with some money. I’m taking a 3 week trip up the Amazon next January.
And yet, I’m not doing/living where the fantasy tells me to. Fantasy A) entails moving to sunny Southern California and buying a sailboat. From there sailing around the south Pacific and skinny dipping whenever the opportunity presents itself (a lot.) Plan B), the less expensive plan, entails selling all of my worldly posessions (except my cats) and moving to sunny Mexico. There I’ll live in a bamboo hut with a thatch roof. I’ll have my social security/401K/dividends check on direct deposit to a domestic account which I will use for Tequila and coconuts.
I’ll get there one of these days, then just don’t get in my way ‘cause I’m gonna’ have so much damn funnnnnnnn!!!
Inertia’s entire philosophy in two words - Be nice.
You worry too much, you make yourself sad
You can’t change fate, but don’t feel so bad
Enjoy it while you can, it’s just like the weather
So quit complaining brother,
No one lives forever!
Let’s have a party there’s a full moon in the sky
It’s the hour of the wolf and I don’t want to die
I’m so happy dancing while the grim reaper cuts cuts cuts
(But he can’t get me, as I’m
clever as can be, and I’m very quick) but don’t forget
You’ve only got so many tricks and
No one lives forever!
You think you got it rough? What about your darling doggy?
Ten short years and he’s getting old and groggy
I don’t think it’s very fair
Cold, chop, low, but it’s all relative my friend 'cause
No one lives forever!
…and I could go on, but I’ll stop before someone shoots me.
Me, personally? I’m pretty happy, but I’m being very very quiet so my little boy with croup can get to sleep.Anything more cosmic than that is beyond me at the moment.
…but when you get blue, and you’ve lost all your dreams, there’s nothing like a campfire and a can of beans!
