I was just reading a thread about people who knew ex priests or nuns.
I was a priest years ago in the church that is now called the Community of Christ.
The office was called priest but it is a protestant religion. Now I have my own independent spirituality.I have beliefs in common with Christianity but there are Christian beliefs I can’t accept. I don’t refer to myself as Christian any longer. I can still go to church and take what I want and leave the rest.
In this thread I’d like to hear from ex ministers of protestant faiths, or from someone close to an ex minister.
Were you brought up in your church or were you converted?
How did you become a minister?
Did you feel your role was positive and really making a contribution?
Why did you leave?
Are you still a believer? How is it expressed?
