Are you seeing election bumper stickers in your area?

PENCE MUST GO!to the Naval Observatory

Only stickers I’ve seen have been on cars owned by idiots who cover the entire back of their car with stickers.

I’ve seen a few Trump signs. Other than that only local candidate signs (and most of those before the local primary a month back)

Interestingly, today I was driving through an area and noticed a number of Johnson yard signs - I’m still not seeing many stickers, but in the area I was in there must have been 5 or 6 yards with those signs.

I saw a Gary Johnson sign today, the first Presidential election sign.

Not many signs in my area, but I was out with my mother over the weekend, looking at potential houses in a nearby housing development for retired folks, quite a few signs there.

And really, if you’re in a far north Dallas suburb, with all old, retired people, and there are still more Hillary signs than Trump signs, that’s probably not a good sign for the campaign.

A few but not many. I think the candidates are too widely disliked and polarizing, and people just don’t want to put up with defending their crap candidate.

Saw a “Trump likes Nickelback” bumper sticker. And a couple real Trump stickers but mainly Clinton stickers.

I read an opinion piece by a Pittsburgh columnist (Selena Zito, usually pretty good) about the fervor for Trump in rural PA, and plethora of lawn signs according to her. But I was in southwestern PA well outside Pittsburgh yesterday and only saw around a dozen Trump lawn signs in an hour plus of small road/small town driving till we got on an interstate, although zero Clinton signs.

In my county in NJ Romney got 22% of the vote and Trump will probably get less. It’s an urban area, people sometimes put ‘lawn signs’ in their windows, but I haven’t noticed any so far. There are some Clinton* stickers on private cars, some Trump stickers on (generally out of town) contractor trucks.

*still outnumbered by Obama 08/12 and Bernie '16 stickers.

Very little current display for a place that is so red. Still a lot of leftover hatred for Obama, though, based on the bumper stickers.

All Trump or Bernie.
No Hillary sticker, although a few yard signs.
This is Tea Farty Country, though.

I just got a “Make America Great Again” survey from Trump, the second I think from his own group. I’d also got a similar “Survey” from the RNC. Had fun filling it out, filling in all the blanks as to how I support Hillary. With this one I also included a note as to how I’m a Democrat and if their campaign is a measure of how efficiently they would run the country then I sure hope Hillary wins. I also said America is already great, Trump won’t make it great “again.”

Geez, one statement was how Trump would end the Affordable Care Act on the first day he was President. That’s as believable as saying he’ll have a wall built and get Mexico to pay for it. Do they not understand how STUPID that sounds.

Ok, Baker, calm down, take a deep breath…

Almost none. It’s like people are ashamed they plan to vote for one of these bozos.

I work from home during the week (insurance auditor), so I work 1-2 days Fri-Sun at a local pet supply store just for fun and to interact with people and their pets. In the last two weeks, I’ve helped two customers to their cars with their large purchaseds and saw their stickers for Hillary defaced or destroyed and the car damaged along with it. I asked both of them and they told me it happened while they were parked in a public shopping center. One was a 2013 Lexus SUV and it had been keyed along the entire back as well as the bumper sticker.

Do people not realize the hypocrisy and the absurdity of this kind of behavior? That’s the point of living in America- we can support whomever we choose and vote for them without fear! But not without fear that our cars will be vandalized if we support our candidate with a sticker!

I proudly have my ‘A Woman’s Place Is In The White House’ (with Hillary’s photo) sticker on the back window of my car. I park in the garage at home and when I work at my part-time job, I park where the security cameras outside are focused on my car. If someone tries to stop me from supporting my candidate by vandalizing my car, I will press charges!

They’re down. The size must have been against code. The regular campaign signs remain.

Authoritarians believe in the freedom of all to conform to their desires. It’s a very cramped and crabbed version of freedom. But it makes them psychologically comfortable. Which they find, paradoxically, freeing.

IOW: freedom from scary differences and deviations is freedom from fear and worry.

I have never seen a campaign bumper sticker in Canada. Lawn signs yes (I had one in the last federal election). But I was just in Boston and Cape Cod a week ago and I did see a number of bumper stickers. My son and his wife each had an “I’m with her” sticker and I saw a few Trump stickers, one around the corner from where we were staying on the Cape. Not that MA is in play.

But political bumper stickers seem to be an American phenomenon, perhaps owing to the long election season. They have been running for at least two years and, according to the Votemaster, some maneuvering for 2020 has already begun.

Not really , I bet people are worried their cars will get damages by the other candidate supporters. People lawn signs are getting stolen or damages .

As well you should. That said, I question the wisdom of bumper stickers for that reason. And it’s not limited to ones supporting Democrats. I supported Romney last time, though I can’t stomach Trump, but no way would I make my car a target with a GOP bumper sticker where I live, and it would be. But I just don’t like the idea of bumper stickers anyway, messing up the appearance of my car IMO, even if nobody touches them. And I’m private about my politics in real life under real name. You have a right to stickers on your property though, and it’s a crime to vandalize your property.

Back when bumpers were exposed metal, I would have been likelier to apply decals. Now that they’re behind a painted plastic fairing that gets expensively damaged from giving it a mean look, not so much.

1 Trump yard sign. 1 Bernie yard sign. Just yesterday I finally saw bumper stickers, both for Trump. One was on an old pickup. One was on a minivan that almost hit me because they had to back into traffic rather than waiting for an opening. :smack:
