That thing Aretha’s wearing is actually a coat, the puffy part is the collar. Underneath is a slipdress that is REALLY not a good idea for someone with her figure. Without the coat, her boobs were all over the place.
Faith Hill’s dress is one of Mary my daddy’s famous, so I can make other famous people wear my hideous clothes McCartney’s concoctions. And that wispy fabric on Faiths arms were the actual sleeves.
She’s a big woman, and she wears big clothes. She’s often shocked me by what she wears.
Faith’s got great legs. The dress is ugly.
A local DJ said it best: “Aretha looked like she was stuffed in a gift bag.”
Thanks for the links. I’ve seen Aretha look much worse. Like the time she wore a skin tight, strapless gown that barely hung on to her boobs. Eewww. Faith is a really pretty woman as well, but the dress wasn’t her. Generally, I like Stella McCartney’s designs.
I personally think Aretha’s outfit was just typical show-biz bad. Actresses wearing equivalently abominable outfits at the Oscars are as thick as roaches in a tenement. Yeah, there’s more of Aretha than there are of any working actresses, but that’s really the only difference.
Her voice makes up for her lack of style sense, IMHO. I’d listen to her sing a two-hour excerpt from the Code of Federal Regulations.
