Argent Towers, you suck

my bad, novel

Not anymore!

So…if someone’s on your ignore list, you still see everything of theirs that others have quoted?

Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of it, especially if what they’ve said is something controversial that generated lots of replies?

Hey, miss elizabeth, that nancy-boy is the future William III, King of England. You almost missed out on that.

ETA: Ah, dammit, silenus, you bastard.

similar, but not the same as facts

And now my day is complete.

Argent Towers is like a hemorrhagic virus making ignorance contagious and deadly.

This actually proves my point. Anything remotely interesting he posts is quoted so I don’t miss much.

Hmm. Actually I think I will try blocking Diogenes. I don’t think I gave it enough of a chance before.

But does Dio know anything about William III? Huh? I thought not.

William III once shot a man in Reno just to see him die.

Willaim III knows only two things about ducks, both of them wrong.

There’s no chin beneath Willim III’s goatee, there is only another rapier.

Whatever Dio knows about William III is all there is to know about him. Dio knows all and apparently his posts are his cites.

We…um… “tolerate gay couples, interracial couples…”
Tolerate.
Damn!
Perhaps you didn’t mean this the way I read it, but it sure sounds ugly as hell to me.
Tolerate.

Shit.

I think he was joking around a bit.

It’s worth mentioning that Argent kinda turned out to be right about some of the stuff people are giving him shit for in that thread, FWIW…

Frankly, I’m surprised by this pitting.

Well, then, mention it. What was he right about? No need to be coy, bring.

I don’t really even think I was “right” about anything. I was being kind of an ass, and I admit it. No, I do not think that “death to cops” is a mainstream sentiment among liberal-leaning people, in any way; only that I did encounter some, in college, who were pretty vile about it. But, as I said before, I think it was mostly because their only experience with cops was very negative - i.e. being busted for drug bullshit. If college students didn’t need to worry about getting in trouble over an eighth of an ounce of weed, they wouldn’t hate the police so much.

whole bean’s comment about me - “He also often appears to come at things as if his frame of reference is the default universal experience” - is correct. It’s a flaw of mine, and I should try to work on it.

And he also said “I was being kind of an ass, and I admit it.”. Which means the pitting was entirely reasonable.

The thing is, it’s natural and akin to inductive reasoning.

The longer you live, the more times your experience proves not to be the default, the less you rely on it as such - assuming you’re open to the prospect. Anyway, you’re an interesting guy. It wasn’t meant to be an attack.

I can see the truth in that. I also wonder when you went to college. I understand anti-police sentiment used to be particularly strong in the 60s.

I appreciate your very reasonable response here.

pretty sure he graduated within the last couple of years
