That is now an earworm I can’t identify???
Apparently they are making a remake of “Voltron: Defenders of the Universe” or some such, that I vaguely remember but wasn’t a huge watcher of. Cartoon Network will be airing it over the summer. Kind of the way they did with “Speed Racer”.
Anyway, they were tonight apparently showing some of the old ones, presumably to hook in people like my husband, another 70’s and 80’s child like me, who watched endless hours of this type of show.
When all 4 of my kids came up and said Daddy was watching a very boring and “pixellated” (my 11-year-old son) show called Voltron, I immediately got this in my head, and I know I have it wrong in the name…
VOLTRON!!! OF THE UNIVERSE!!!
(SOLTAR??? VOLTAR???)
sung by an enthusiastic group of manly men.
If you’re musical, you could sing it on the notes (key of C), starting on the G above middle C, in C minor at first,
G middle C!!! G A B-flat E-flat!!!
(switching to an Eflat chord on the B-flat.
Sorry but this is making me NUTS!!! I know someone will know it. It may be an old cartoon or something, or a parody ----- I don’t know I just want it out of my head!!!
thanks,
Karen!!!
Oh, God, I’m aging fast.
Nevermind. It finally traversed the neural circuit and “Lothar” popped into my head as a certainty.
And, then a really fast google made me remember. I’m embarrassed a bit, but it’s also not er, of the “Universe.” Or a cartoon. I think it is still 80’s.
A cookie-pie to anyone who remembers it now…
“Lothar! Of the ___ _____!!!”
Wow. I think I’m getting the family Alzheimer’s a mite early, or maybe it’s just the effect of 7-year-old triplets and an ADD 11-year-old combined with my own ADD and husband who watches VOLTRON.

Could you be thinking of “Lothar of the Hill People” from late-80’s/early-90’s Saturday Night Live (starring Mike Myers)?
It has been so many seasons since I’ve walked with a woman.
A video clip from Hulu of Lothar.
Moving to Cafe Society.

This thread has brought much hilarity into my life.
awesome. I made my husband watch it (he had never heard of it).
He was unimpressed.
I didn’t get it as a teenager; now I thought it was hilarious.
Glad to bring the hilarity, as always.
Sorry, btw, thought this was a GQ…

P.S. Knowing has not removed it from my head!!! but I did somehow in the search waste hours on sporcle.com and have a new way to waste my life.
