Current sheriff says his phone blew up… with support for him.
- Guys 87. What’s his secret to such healthy longevity? Does he drink the blood of the illegals and petty criminals he detained?
Quetzalcoatl is patient, but when the Aztec calendar says the time is right, it’s gonna be a very bad day for ol’ Joe.
This is an intelligence test for the eligible voters. I wonder if they’ll pass.
I think he bathes in the blood of the innocent.
Only the good die young.
Arizonan here, while there are plenty of voters that still fail tests, there are just a bit more that are passing.
Arpaio failed miserably when he ran for the Senate recently and even Jeff Flake is supporting the Democratic Penzone to continue to be sheriff now.
He’s in an awfully conservative area, though. I bet - unless he has health issues - he’ll be re-elected.
If people will vote for a, what do we even call him, a pardoned felon, they deserve what they get.
He’s not a felon, since (according to the link in the OP) the offense he was convicted of is a misdemeanor. Maybe “misdemeanorer”?
I stand corrected. (Well, technically I’m sitting.)
Arpaio isn’t currently in office. He lost his sheriffdom in 2016 in what turned out to be not all that close a race.
Uh, I think you are ignoring that it was when Trump was elected and carried the state of Arizona that Arpaio did lose for his reelection as Sheriff. By then many Republicans already were not amused by the clear crimes and incompetence shown by Arpaio and the gross unnecessary costs that Arpaio was causing the county with his abuses of power and racism.
To that we have to add even more sandbagging moves made by Arpaio himself since losing the last sheriff’s race.
Yes, I know. But he was elected before so if he wins the election, to me he’d be re-elected.
I admit I don’t keep up with news in the Phoenix area; Tucson ignores it, perhaps because it gets ignored by the state legislature. But we get Arpaio fans here at the hotel. Rich white males. They love him.
