Arrested Development: 4.3.05

Funniest episode ever.

Her?

I can’t wait for season two DVD. I know I’m only really noticing about 1/3 of the things that will eventually delight me.

Did you see the look on that guard’s face when Maebey said, “babysit me!” I didn’t really understand why she had to act younger to get the mail though.

Also the whole Franklin thing. After Gob said, “Franklin just said some things that whitey wasn’t ready to hear,” did he say, “Franklin just said some things that African-Americanie wasn’t ready to hear”? I was laughing and I couldn’t hear.

Ahem.

Mods, little help? You can just close mine if that’s easiest.

That’s exactly what he said.

How about George Sr.'s comment that “It’s never too late” for GOB to stop disappointing him?

I liked Maeby’s new nickname for Ann. How did the line go? “Oh, he’s with Bland?”

Best episode of the season.

I’ll have to watch it again to catch everything I missed because I was laughing too hard.

It’s good to see Alan Tudyk getting work, since he’s still about a half year away from becoming a movie star.

He may end up getting typecast as the guy who’s married to the woman who’s way too hot for him.

If he chunks up, maybe he can play Peter Griffin in a live-action Family Guy.

Mrs. Veale was Justine Bateman, right? I liked her and Ann’s lines about “secular” things. Though I still don’t like Ann.

Lindsay: ‘If you say no, you’ll drive him straight to her.’
George-Michael: ‘Dad, can you drive me to Ann’s?’
Michael: ‘Y-es. … That didn’t go like I hoped.’

Pretty sure it wasIone Skye .

You gotta lock that down.

Actually, it was Ione Skye. Wouldn’t the physical interaction between Mrs. Veal and Michael (Jason Bateman) have been rather icky if it had been his real-life sister playing her?

I thought that the episode was great, and I also really enjoyed the Simpsons episode that preceded it (more so than many recent ones, at least).

Ooh, simulpost!

(Except that I was 93 minutes late because I didn’t bother to preview or refresh a long-open window).

Sorry, sleeepy2.

Has anyone ever pointed out that Ann’s full name is Ann Veal?

Anvil?

Her?

This episode is going to be up there with “Good Grief” as the best of season 2. Gob’s puppet Franklin had me screaming with laughter and was it just me or was George particularly Homerish with Franklin and Gob? What with the throttling and “That’s my wife you…” Mrs. Featherbottom’s “outing” gave me a big sigh of relief because while it’s funny but it’s also painfully funny.

Favorite lines of the night:
“What kind of puppet does Buster have on his hand?”
“I just don’t want Wellington pointing out my cracker ass in front of Ann.”

I loved GOBs frantic scramble to get the partition up in the limo while his George Sr. tried to get some from mom.

“Dad, the window won’t go up. Seriously dad, the radio won’t work either!”

I loved when Buster thought Oscar was the only one in the family that wasn’t bothered by his hook because he saw him using it as a roach clip.

Maeby’s trying to cover her slip about the premiere. I forget which country’s premiere was supposed to be dating her gym teacher.

“I don’t have anything to wear to the Premiere…of Canada. He’s dating my teacher…”

I loved the tension mounting scene where they show a quick close up of Gob, the guard, and then the puppet.

And, of course, that was why the dog went after it in the “In the next AD.”

I recall reading an interview with Jason where he was saying thathe was pushing to get Justine to appear for a few episodes AS his love interest. Just to screw with people.

It was also great when Tobias was trying to ‘stay in character’ and was driving the Mini on the wrong side of the road! LOL!

Also Mrs. Featherbottom wanting to put a banger in Michael’s mouth… then a sausage in his mouth…
