I’m going to guess that Felicity’s mom is in the grave. She seems to be the most disposable character at the moment.
Certainly possible, but would Barry be there? And even if Felicity is in a wheelchair, wouldn’t she be there?
Brian
Barry and Felicity are pretty close, so he may have wanted to give some support. And Felicity was there but she was already in the limo.
I guessed earlier that it is Diggle and I still think it is. His death opens the door for Mr. Terrific.
I thought Felicity’s lackey at Palmer Tech was supposed to become Mr Terrific.
He is, which is why it makes sense for it to be a dead Diggle.
Salt, that’s true, because in CW world, two black heroes simultaneously would just be crazy talk.
Maybe the guy who plays Diggle can find a brief role on Walking Dead.
I’m guessing it’s Black Canary’s dad. The character is so poorly defined that you need notes to figure out if he’s pro-or-anti Arrow at any given moment, he was in bed with Donnie Darko or whatever the big-bad’s name is. Plus he’s about to find tru-love with Felicity’s mom, so he’s gotta die.
Felicity gets dubbed “Overwatch”, because “Oracle” was already taken. Does this mean that a certain other masked vigilante, who favors the color black, also exists in the Flarrowverse?
Possibly, but I’m guessing any reference will be very tangential (have they even mentioned Gotham?)
That was my favorite line: “Tried ‘Oracle’ but that was taken”
Will this be the last of Goth Felicity?
They killed Waller?
And Ollie had a point: In a world where people fly, shoot flames, and/or come back from the dead – reversing paralysis is peanuts .
Brian
Can someone explain the oracle reference?
“Oracle” is (was?) the nom de guerre of Barbara Gordon, who was paralyzed as a result of being shot through the spine by the Joker. Barbara is the daughter of Gotham police commissioner James Gordon. Before being confined to a wheelchair, she would occasionally don a costume and fight crime as Batgirl together with Batman and Robin. Afterwards, she called herself “Oracle” and became a sort uber-hacker and information broker. Come to think of it, as Oracle she eventually teamed up with Black Canary and others to form the Birds of Prey.
Great episode this week! Largely due to the return of some characters we haven’t seen in a while: Roy, Nissa, Tatsu, and in the island flashback… Shado.
Plus, new villain: The Calculator (loved Felicity’s digs at his name), played by one of those ‘that guy’ actors who’s always a good villain. And the twist was pretty great! Do you think he knows?
I know this is comic-book world where all sorts of impossible things happen, but Curtis’ new ‘power cell’ battery still seems ridiculously over-the-top. Ignoring the impossibility of such a device, that kind of development would be world-changing. It would transform society. Instead, we’ll probably just see it used to power someone’s super-suit.
Oliver now has an opponent in the mayor’s race–Mrs. Darhk. Interesting.
Very cool shot of Roy escaping that explosion!
Thea is still facing the consequences of her dip in the Lazarus Pit. I guess she is a contender now for the gravestone scene that they keep teasing us with. That was a really touching goodbye with Thea and Roy at the end.
Side note 1: The new Legends of Tomorrow series has not won me over yet, but it IS nice to see Caity Lotz playing Canary again.
Side note 2: Over the holidays, I watched several of those cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies and one of them starred Katrina Law, a.k.a. ‘Nyssa.’ It was really strange seeing her in such a different role, without the accent and swords. I think she’s in another one of those Hallmark movies, too, but I haven’t seen it yet.
What was the purpose of Nyssa visiting Tatsu? Other than gratuitous sword-on-katana action.
I think Curtis’ battery was picked up by S.H.I.E.L.D. and used to power Simmons’ phone that she used for months and months on that alien planet.
Wrong comic-book universe!
Tatsu was guarding a cure to the side effects of the Lazarus Pit. She got it from Tatsu to offer to Oliver in exchange for him killing Malcolm.
It seems after this week it may be Olivers son?
A dead kid on prime time tv? Unlikely.
Yeah, I doubt they’d kill the kid.
I thought Oliver defeated Malcolm way too easily. And I thought Nyssa giving up her title and disbanding the League of Assassins was implausible, given how hell-bent she was to gain them in the first place.
