The only thing that bothered me was the super cliched “one last mission before retirement” thing, as soon as that was mentioned you knew who was gonna bite it.
Yeah it was pretty clear Andy was a traitor too. We knew Darkh had to get the piece back, so it was obvious what was going to happen.
It would have made sense for each member to hide a piece or for some of it to be buried on the island it game from, or something.
Well, we finally catch up to the grave scene. With the flash forward we did not know Felicity would be able to walk. Guess she just wanted to give Ollie some time.
Speaking of the Flash, he has his speed still (Ollie did say something about Zoom IIRC)
Brian
The grave scene doesn’t make any sense now. Barry still has his speed. Why are Felicity and Oliver sharing a limo, when they’re supposed to have broken up. Oliver vows to get revenge by killing Dhark when, earlier in the episode, Oliver stopped Diggle from killing the mayor, Mrs. Dhark, because they’re supposed to be good guys. The whole thing just falls apart in light of what happened previously in the season.
I recently saw a commercial for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and hockey stick-wielding vigilante Casey Jones is being played by none other than Stephen Amell. Typecasting, I guess.
What happened to Curtis? Couldn’t they ask him to grab the chip?
Surpised the nuke didn’t go into the ocean – Felicity has both saved and killed more people than Ollie… There will be repurcussions (will Felicity fall into a funk?)
Brian
That was kind of dark. Tens of thousands killed. It didn’t feel dark though.
It was Darkh!
Is this going to have repercussions on The Flash? They did, after all, detonate a nuke relatively nearby.
So, everyone toddles off to have a good think. Will they be back, or is Oliver going to have to cobble together a new team?
How long is Oliver going to be mayor when he’s moonlighting as Green Arrow? Good thing he’s got a paying job though, since Felicity is unemployed.
You would think Flash would have something to say about a city getting nuked, but I guess he’s off changing time itself. While he’s at it, maybe he could undo the nuke thing.
Diggle wearing his old Army uniform was lame. Why does TV think vets always put their old uniform on when they get depressed or something? Or was he going to rejoin the Army? You know, you can’t just do that either.
More flashbacks next season? Oliver sure did a lot of living during those years he was gone.
Think we’ll ever see Constantine again? That would be fun.
So Darkh was defeated due to the positive thoughts of a bunch of people? Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see another explanation.
The cynic in me said folks went away so it easier to remove actors if contract talks break down. I think Curtis is also still around.
I kind of like where the Oliver / Felicity relationship is now. They obviously care for each other, but aren’t together-together.
Brian
A big issue for me is that they haven’t addressed the…um…fallout* from the fact that Russia nuked a US city. This would make 9/11 look like a picnic and rather than see any sort of consequences, we’re seeing boring “stupid characters making stupid life-choices” drama. World War III should be on the verge of happening but instead we get whiny I-love-her-but-she-doesn’t-love-me crap that would be rejected from a bad '80s Archie comic.
*Pun intended
Doesn’t she still have, like, stock options, though?
Would that be the worst thing, though? I mean, if that’s how it plays out, at least those characters got a plausible, if not wholly satisfying, exit.
The season 4 finale was episode 92. I anticipate that they will be together-together again before episode 100. Hell, I’d put a Tubman on Episode 100 being the wedding episode.
I believe she still owns everything, she just got fired from running things.
Which kind of begs the question, though: why did she let security walk her out of the building, then?
I assume since that program seized control of every nation’s nukes, all those governments would be on their hotlines with other countries. The problem is when they find out it was an American program originally, but the US paid for that by getting nuked. Definitely a diplomatic crisis. Without nuclear deterrence, the world might be kind of tense though.
Supposedly Rubicon can control all of NATO’s nukes – apparently in the Arrowverse Russia is in NATO.
I’m not betting anything on Ollie/Felicity – because I can see the writers doing relationship drama (it is the CW). I just personally think they work well as they are (which is unlikely to stay that way because of drama)
