How about the alley where I got arrested in 1984?

I’m almost afraid to ask…

Fortunately, both moi and myself (and a few others) live in Baltimore City, so getting a ride shouldn’t be a big problem.

If the weather is nice enough, though, I may just end up walking! :stuck_out_tongue:

From what I see, Bolton Hill is immediately adjacent to and West of 83, so if you name a landmark or preferably an intersection, I’ll find you. No email in your profile, so you’ve gotta write to me, first.

So… What time do we meet?

FCM suggested 1:00 PM, and no one said “ewwwwwww,” so let’s go for that. Then them’s as want to can go catch an early supper somewhere before we all get back on the road.

Woo hoo! I’m so psyched about this!

OK, meet at 1 in front of the museum - or in the lobby, since it’ll be cold outside. I’ll try to remember to call tomorrow and find out the skinny on group rates.

As for dining afterwards, I suggest we just wing that at the time - we may get sick to death of each other after a few cultured hours…

So, shall we have a dress code? Afternoon formal? Tuxes and sneakers for the gentlemen, fuzzy slippers and hair curlers for the ladies??

Put me and Mrs Geek down as a definate maybe. We’ll have to see how things work out.

As for dress code, the closest thing to a tux I have is a black T shirt that says <GEEK> on the front and </GEEK> on the back. Seriously, I don’t own any dress pants at all.

I think for a dress code, we should all wear something that says – yup, this here is a Doper. engineer_cop_geek is clearly set – and I think we can all come up with a T-shirt (or whatever) that will clearly identify us as the few, the proud, the nerds.

Hey, I threw something out there. It’s you with the crazy social life. Seriously, I swear we’ll get together and do something before my birthday. Which is less than seventy days away, so I’m sure we can make it work.

Also, for those of you coordinating dress: I have a James Joyce t-shirt. And I enjoyed “Ulysses.” Is that geeky enough? If not, maybe I’ll make a shirt with our li’l ;j guy on it. Or DNFT or some other Doperism. What if I cross-stitch the ;j ? Isn’t even having these ideas geeky enough?

Surgery does not a crazy social life make.

Sorry to be late to this thread. Actually, i wouldn’t have seen it at all if weirddave hadn’t given me a heads up.

It looks like i can make it.

February 12, 1pm, in front of the museum. Do i have it right?

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Kinda cold for T-shirts, but I’m game! I’ll wear my YoYoDyne Industries shirt (a growing, excited company!). Now, who can tell what geeky movie that is from?

Buckaroo Bonzai, isn’t it?

Remember, wherever you go, there you are.

(I’ll save the doomed is your soul and damned is your life rant for later)

All righty, then. I talked to a nice man at the museum. As long as at least 10 of us show up and buy tickets at the same time, we get the group rate. So be prompt, dammit!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a Teemings T-shirt, but it will be a tad chilly, I fear, to have it visible. But for those who don’t know me, I’ll be in red - red fleece jacket, red hat, red gloves, possibly a red scarf, and I’ll be accompanied by a mostly-white-bearded fellow who isn’t my father.

Hmm, yeah, I may not have thought the “damn, it’s gonna be cold” thing through when I suggested we go full-tilt geeky.

Of course, you can wear a t-shirt over a turtleneck or something for warmth – which, of course, is a whole additional level of geekiness.

Sounds like we’ve got a good crowd interested – we can wait till the week before to get a better count on actual attendance. This is still a few weeks away… so hopefully we’ll get some additional recruits by then as well.

We just need to keep the conversation going, and the thread bumped! We gotta make sure there’s at least 10 of us!

Count me in provisionally. supervenusfreak will probably have to work, so I’ll most likely be flying solo.

OK, I just saw this thread, and it looks like fun. I F’d up on Dope the Halls, so I’ve been hoping for a chance to redeem myself. Any chance of a ride, BlueKangaroo? Will KiB be there?
