The AVAM was everything I expected and more: never thought I’d see a gigantic pink poodle cart. 
Anita, I just had to tell you that you gave my sweetie a thrill when you called him Captain. No one ever calls him that. So you have a friend for life now!
We are at home, safe and sound, after a lovely afternoon of cul-chah and a lovely Italian dinner. The WeirdNorth baby is a charmer! I really enjoyed myself, and FCD still thinks we’re all strange folks. He just doesn’t get it, but he did have fun, mostly. I think he was a little homesick for the harbor…
I did get some ideas of what to do with the numerous mirrored tiles I have.
:mad: I totally missed this thread until right now - clearly too late.
I dunno if I would have come or not, but I think I would have tried.
Oh well, it sounds like a cool event, maybe next time.
How was the exhibit?
twickster and I made it back to Philly safe and sound.
I greatly enjoyed the museum; the art was far better than I had expected.

Completely worth driving to Baltimore for. I definitely fell down on the socializing side of things because I was totally absorbed by the art.

What a blast! I’m glad I finally got to meet some of you. I may even start to poke my head out of GD and GQ now that I have some faces to go with a few of the names. I wish I’d had time to get to know folks more, but hopefully we’ll have another event soon.
The Museum was great! I know a couple of other friends who would really love it, and I may go up there again before too long.
Ginger, I’m going to work on my paper this evening. I promise. How much time do I have spend on it to get the first loaf of banana-nut bread?
Twickster, I’ll get in touch with you sometime about a Philly get together. Not sure quite when though. I’m coming every week, so there’s plenty of opportunities.

Thanks to all of you for making this such a wonderful time for my wife and me! Debbie really enjoyed meeting all of you since I talk about the SDMB so much but have yet to lure her in. WendellWagner, you made a great impression on Debbie! Now she wants to explore more Monty Python, something she just never understood with me! A thousand thanks.
I wish we could have joined the dinner group, but such is life. We never expected our daughter to be swimming in the divisionals, but she made the cut and we just had to be there for the races. This was a BIG event in her life (BTW, she came in second in the 100 butterfly!).
So… how was the dinner??? Any pictures?
