In the myriad discussions of Playgirl (which apparently features nude guys in an “at ease” situation) and visual porn (the usual run of female opinions, with some enthusiastic visual consumers but plenty of women saying seeing naked guys and their penii just doesn’t do it for them), I’ve often wondered…
…as porn goes, would women find it appetizing to watch video footage of a guy becoming erect? Let’s assume a range of plot-options from no story to short segment of female vamping guy and video footage shows her getting him aroused to drama-type narrative with backstory leading up to situation in which guy gets aroused. Also let’s assume range from nude to substantially clothed in garments. Oh, and for the slash-fans, let’s assume some of the male arousees are aroused by things other guys are doing, and/or in the presence of other guys.
Would y’all consume porn graphically depicting malefolks getting aroused?
Bonus question: do you prefer that it be in the face of initial resistance, e.g., situation of one sort or another sets the guy up to be mortified if he does get turned on? Or do your tastes run more towards male participatory enthusiasm?
I had a subscription for almost 2 years (until June): Playgirl shows erections, too. Plenty of them. Mostly cut, but right around the time I stopped subscribing they were making an effort to show more uncut men (which is not why I stopped subscribing, I assure you!). A lot of the discussions I’ve seen about the magazine feature comments from women who’ve only seen 1 or 2 issues, who haven’t seen it in a few years, or who only saw an issue once, for 20 minutes, in 1970.
Anyhoo, on with the questions (after I explain that I’m probably not a “typical” female as you describe them, in that I enjoy porn. I own more erotica, but porn will definitely do the trick):

Hell, yes! It’s one of my favorite things to watch in person (actually, it’s one of my favorite things to feel in person), so I’d love to see it in porn. In fact, a few months ago the morning radio show I listened to mentioned a site that shows pictures of erections. I think ostensibly it was scientific, comparing sizes and showing how different the same penis can look when flaccid v. erect (one unforgettable guy went from complete mushroom cap to “how you doin’”), and some guys had actually submitted flash videos of themselves getting erections. I almost felt guilty that it turned me on.

Both, please. 
No. I prefer seeing naked men already erect, when I’m seeing naked men. But then I’m also strictly in favour of porn producers skipping narrative, dialogue, and other such frippery and getting to the business of hard men doing interesting things with each other (and possibly women if I’m in the mood for that.) Disclaimer: I am not a huge porn fan, I let my husband kindly screen it for me to find the 10 minutes in any given film that I’ll probably like, and watch it rarely, but those are my preferences given those limitations.

Oh yes. It would be a lot more realistic. I mean, when I watch porn and the guy is already hard, I know damn well he’s been “fluffed.” Besides, I find pre-boner touching, kissing and teasing more arousing than the usual porn stuff… Like weird camera angles just to show penetration, the “porn pose” (guy standing/kneeling with his hand on his hip), and the obligatory “butt-nut” shot. I don’t watch much porn for this reason.

Non-erect means it’s not porn, IMHO. At least it doesn’t do anything for me.
One problem I have is that the expression that is a steamy “come get me” pout on a women looks like a pissed-off “what are you doing here?” scowl on men. The models in the posed pictures I’ve seen of men a la 1970 Playgirl look to me like they’ve been (unpleasantly) surprised getting out of the shower.
