Some of these are so stupid as to beggar description:
Basic Instinct 2. Catherine Trammel is under suspicion for some murders…again…and plays mind games with Michael Douglas…again. Bruce Almighty 2. God gives Jim Carrey God-like powers…again. Mrs. Doubtfire 2. Sally Field kicks Robin Williams back out of the house, then hires a nanny, only it’s really Robin Williams…again…and nobody is suspicious.
As much as I hated Basic Instinct, BI2 could be made to work in a number of ways. Catherine is targeted by a killer who copycats her original crimes, or she just moves to another city and starts over, etc.
Just so long as Michael Douglas doesn’t show his ass. Nobody needs to see that.
I had not heard this, so I looked up some info. Apparently it’s going to be a live action remake of the Miyazaki cartooon. This seems so very wrong to me.
Where did the OP get this list from? Why would there be another Dukes Of Hazard movie in the pipe when the first one hasn’t stunk up the joint yet? The list also seems to be missing Ghost Rider (post-production) and The Flash (announced for next year) both of which are being/to be directed by David Goyer, who directed Batman Begins.
These: no, no, no! What are they thinking?
Particularly this one: The Evil Dead. Forget it. If it ain’t got Bruce Campbell, it ain’t worth it. Indiana Jones 4
Terminator 4
And after I read this book:
Swiss Family Robinson
And found out how much killing of animals they do, not to mention They. Kill. PENGUINS! and not to eat, just to waste, I will always hate this movie.
The mind boggles! The first was such a bottom of the barrel, MST3K worthy stinker.
Can you imagine how bad a SEQUEL will be!
I'm stocking up of beer and popcorn for the bad movie party!
I think the Dukes of Hazzard movie that the OP is referring to is the one that’s coming out next month (not technically in production, but in the pipeline).
If it makes you feel better, they have gathered together the original cast of Rent to make the movie, and opted against getting some big time names (Madonna, etc.), so - at least the cast can’t be blamed.
The Pink Panther should, by all rights, already have been released and be on DVD by now. However, MGM was sold to Sony before they could release it, and Sony took one look at that stinker and moved the release date back. Everyone I know who has seen it says it is truly horrible.
There are a couple on the list I might go see, but this is obviously a list of films based on prior films or well-known material.
There are lots and lots of films in production with truly original scripts that will be released as well. They are not listed as they would simply be titles out of nowhere that mean nothing until the film is completed.
I wonder how they’ll film all the crawling through ventilation shafts.
Highlander
Highlander 2: the one with stupid space aliens and the energy shield
Highlander 3: the one with stupid illusion magic and stupidness
Highlander 4: the one with the stupid tv show crossover in which, um
Well, it is based on a book series, so… good for them.
Like… crotch waxing? Oh, now I get it!
 & this is a problem why? The previous version wasn’t part of the Cubby Broccoli series.
This I want to see. And maybe this time, the script will recognize the importance in D&D of cooperative party mechanics.
“Really final this time!” :snicker: No, wait, that was the Highlander movies’ psychosis. At this point, the producers have forgotten what “Final” means.
May be the first to lose money.
To be fair, these are arguably based on comic books more than other movies. Well, except for the two that in existent series, where it may be half & half.
Isn’t the proposed “Footloose” movie supposed to be based on the stage musical version, which was in turned based on the Kevin Bacon movie? If so, I’m tentatively excited- I play the original cast recording constantly.
