You’ve imagined those. There was never a sequel to Highlander.
No mention of the Transformers live-action movie from Dreamworks? I’m surprised.
Actually, I’m fearful they’ll screw up the franchise, but…
Hey! What about Harold and Kumar Go To Amsterdam? I’ve been waiting for that one with baited breath.
With a good cast, a Dirty Harry remake could be interesting. It’s not like the original was any kind of masterpiece, just a good, workman-like thriller. Get someone decent to play Harry, like Robert Patrick or Daniel Benzali, and I’d see it.
(Of course, I’d always hoped Eastwood would make one more Harry sequel, a serious one examining the consequences of Harry’s violent approach to law enforcement a lá Unforgiven, but I suppose it’s too late.)
I was visiting my girlfriend yesterday at her work (a movie theater) and glimpsed a teaser poster for this out of the corner of my eye. My brain first interpreted it as “Trainspotting 2”, which struck me as a very, very weird idea…
I also saw a poster for X-men 3 with the III made from Wolverines claws over the X. I figure I’ll probably catch it (just to see if they do actually head for the Phoenix storyline, although that’s pretty much locked based on the ending of 2), but the poster just looked nifty.
[nitpick] Bated breath. It’s short for ‘abated’. You’re not trying to capture anybody with your breath.[/nitpick]
I pared down that list quite a bit:
The Bourne Ultimatum - At least, if they get Liman back to direct.
The Brazilian Job - The Italian Job remake was a competently fun popcorn-movie ripoff of the Oceans Eleven remake. So this could be fun.
Get Smart - If only we had a time machine to bring back 99. Yummm.
Harry Potter (3 movies in production) - and one more movie not yet in production, but will be soon enough.
Indiana Jones 4 - I’m afraid of what they’ll do to this one, but it could be interesting.
Pirates of the Caribbean (two movies) - Who’d’a thunk the first one would be so good? Hopefully they don’t mess that up (as long as Captain Keith Richards…err…Jack Sparrow is back in all his glory, I’ll be there)
The Producers - The Movie of the Musical of the Movie!
Rent - I can’t believe this actually looks like it won’t suck. Yeah, I’ll see it.
Shrek 3 - From other threads lately, I get the feeling I’m in a minority actually liking Shrek (more the first movie than the second, though)
Sin City (2 movies) - After the first one, which was good but not great, I’ll rent these.
Spider-Man 3 - Who’s our villain this time? Sandman? The first two have been surprisingly more intelligent than the premise would seem (and much more than most any other superhero movie)
Superman Returns - Hey, it’s working for Batman (note to self: Need to go see Batman Begins)
Toy Story 3 - The premise of 2 was shaky, but still fun. (And Sarah Mclachlan really saved it with one song on the soundtrack)
These interested me, although I’m not sure I’d actually go see any of them in the theater. I just wait for the DVD to come out.

Well it was only announced yesterday.
Please tell me this was a whoosh.
Why? It was all over the news the other day.
It was announced months ago.
And now there is Voltron.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: There. Is. No. God.
