ask the dreamer

I see all these ask the… threads and I wondered what I am.
I have been a Disc Jocky, a driver, a pizza dude, a teacher and I write.
I also have 6 kids, one not born yet and one in heaven.
So you may convlude I drift around and always aspire but rarly achive, you could be right.
But if this thread reached more than a page, I have at least done something.:dubious:

So, go ahead. Ask me anything.

What kind of writer are you?

I have written a children’s story from a Christain point of view. I am very pleased with it but it’s still too long for publishing consideration. I’m still trimming it.
I am also working on a fantasy for teens and a character novel.
Then there are the many short stories including this: http://www.teemings.com/issue11/formal.html
I write for the love of it. Making money would be a plus.

Can I be your spell-chequer girl? (Just teasing.)

6 kids? What ages?

Daizy

Harrison is 9
Naomi will be six forever
Benjamin turns 6 in two weeks
Sarah is 4
Jamie is 18 months
next one is due around July 20th.
We don’t know if we have a boy or girl.
Names are still being debated.

Just wanted to drop in and say that you have a beautiful family, but Naomi in particular looked exactly like my idea of an angel. What an endearing smile! Blessings to you all, as I’m sure that there isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that y’all don’t miss her every second of. {{{hugs}}}

As to asking a question…

What did you teach? I plan on doing that sometime before I retire. At least, that’s the plan. So I’m always thrilled at anyone who can bend my ear with a tall tale or two. And of course, any suggestions. Much obliged sir.

I started out 7 years ago teaching English as a second Language in Budapest, Hungary.
This can be a good way to begin teaching, all I needed was a BA.
I returned to Maui two years later and was a substitute. I taught everything from 2nd grade up through high school.
I moved to California and worked as a councilor at a boy’s home until a teaching position opened up there. I taught English for two years there until I wasn’t able to prove I had met my credintal requirements.
Now I’m a substitute at the same school. I subbed for myself for a while and then they hired another English teacher.
Now I’m subbing for math until they find a new math teacher. Our old one went on to teach in Hungary no just kidding she’s teaching second grade at a public school.
I am looking for full-time work still.

So be a teacher, sure. Just watch out for the pencil-pushers and fulful your requirements.

Next question.
