I wish I had a question for Stripper Sue. It would be so nice to talk to her for free!
Bean Counter: It’s a pretty long story but I’ll try to condense it.
I was 23, in school (pre-pharmacy) and I got married to a nut job. [I am NOT kidding, if you want details, I’ll give them, but I want to keep it short.]
At one point in our marriage, he came home from a titty bar (he went for a friend’s birthday) totally drunk, threw up off the front porch, and passed out in bed. I undressed him and found his wedding band in his pocket. [I should add that he was (is) a chef and had just been hired as an executive chef for a new (not yet opened) restaurant. He was working 80 hours/week minimum.]
The next morning I confronted him and said that maybe I should start stripping so I could spend more quality time with him. His reply was, “With your saggy tits and droopy ass, I doubt it.” I was horrified, saddened and PISSED! At the time, I was 5’9", 115lbs and wore a 34 D. I looked excellent, maybe even too skinny.
By the time we had been married five months, he had cheated on me multiple times (once with a waitress at the restaurant, resulting in his firing), beat the crap out of me once (had him arrested), cleaned out our bank accounts, moved out (back into his parents house), and turned me into an insecure wuss.
I quit school, quit my minimum wage job at the pharmacy and took a job cocktailing at a strip joint. I was making pretty good money, enough to pay my rent, but he took to stalking me. Parking his car aound the block and breaking into the flat. Waiting in the dark until I came in at 2:30am when he would jump out and scare the crap out of me. NOT fun.
I realized that I needed to move and I needed enough money for that all important security deposit/first month’s rent. Since I was already working in a place, I decided to take the plunge. I had seen the dancers, and I may not be a Barbie Doll, but I was better than a lot.
I spoke to an agent (have to have a “talent” agent in MI), and he set up an audition for me at a different bar. I took my best friend for support, did three shots and got on stage to the strains of Nine Inch Nails. My second song (when I actually had to strip to a g-string) was to The Sisters of Mercy. I made it thru it…even got a tip on stage, and was hired.
After that, I had to get a cabaret license (felony clearance, traffic clearance, fingerprints) and I was free to work. I danced for about 1.5 years and I’ll never regret it.
Dancing taught me a lot of things, most of them good, all of them worthwhile.
As far as the rest of the girls, they fell into three distinct categories:
-The 18 year old with the fucked up life. May or may not do drugs.
-The woman trying to get her life on track and get thru school or raise kids.
-The lifers.
I even met my current hubby doing it…but that’s another story.
Yeah, if I were a reasonable attractive young woman I’d have probably considered it. Beats the hell out of minimum wage.
Did any “muscle” at your club beat up on your ex?
Have you gone back to school? Pharmacy is a good career. With 24-hour stores maybe you can get hours that work around your kids. Like I, pretending to be your SO, would be pleased with you working by yourself at night someplace open to the public, even with just a drive-up.
I’ve been on the giving and receiving end of lap dances. I would say it was a bit weird my first time giving, but what isn’t weird your first time?
Things change you, ya know?
I’ll say that working in an environment with a bunch of scantily clad beautiful women, a place where the audience likes to see “closeness” amongst the employees…that changes you. I wouldn’t say that I’m bi-sexual, I have had an expeience, but I’m more open. Open to beauty in both sexes.
The best revenge I ever got on my ex was having a great life w/o him. I’m very happy in my life.
(The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s apathy.)
Yes, I did go back to school. I moved to Cincinnati with my hubby (then SO) and started school there, though I changed my focus to Chemistry. I made the dean’s list with a 4.0 and we moved to Boston. While there, we got married and had a kid.
After two years in Boston, we’re now in San Jose, CA. I plan on starting school again in the fall. I’m going to get a degree if it kills me!!!

Is there any kind of rivalry between strippers who work at the same club? I know you can’t speak for all clubs nationwide, but from your own experience, what can you conclude?
-
What’s a good tip for a $20 lapdance? I mean, what would be the minimum amount I could tip without you thinking I’m cheap? When I get one, I usually tip $5. Is this adequete?
-
While you’re performing a lapdance, is there anything the guy could do to help you out? Like, the position of his legs? Should he slouch in the chair or sit up? Or…?
-
Yes, woman are catty, even more so in a place where your livelihood is mostly based on how you look. Think of how Coldy drives out trolls, sometimes that happened, only IRL.
-
A good tip on a $20 dance is getting 4 more.
Personally, I never expected a tip on personal dances, I figured gouging you for $20 for 3.5 minutes of work was enough. I did, however, expect my regulars to tip me while I was on stage.
So, I guess my ruling is (Opal may differ in her opinion) tip her whatever you feel necessary if you are not going to get another dance and/or you are leaving. If you plan on staying and/or getting another dance by her, tip her while she’s on stage, it’s publicity.
- I guess it really depends on the place. Where I worked, lap dances downstairs were $10, but absolutely no touching by the man. In the VIP room, dances were $20 and things were a bit more lienient. Girls got fired for gratuitous stuff, but the line was curvy and dotted.
Case in point: I had a regular who was an oral maxillofacial surgeon. Essentially, he paid all of my bills, I made $500/wk from him. He came in weekly, expected me to wear a full length dress and have dinner and a bottle of wine with him (we had a full restaurant). He paid off the DJ and the bouncers to take me out of the stage rotation.
His quirk was that his wife was into domination. He wanted to be dominant a day a week. He was not at all into lap dances. After dinner, he would take me into the VIP room and he liked to spank me. It was funny really. All the other girls would be in there grinding away and I was draped over his lap.
Anyway, the bouncers knew he was just a bit kinky, but totally harmless, so they were fine with it. (FTR, there was a bouncer stationed in the VIP room) He was never inappropriate, just weird.
I’m about to be in a relationship with a confirmed raving bitch. Should I turn back and run while I still can?
I’ll catch this one, if I may.
Freek: Naw, don’t run. Having your own raving bitch is akin to having your own pet pitbull. As long as she is on your side, you have some serious backup. Just treat her nice, feed her well, and tend to her needs.
This is to Raving Bitch Sue:
Dear RBS. What is PMS + being a raving bitch at the same time, really like in ten words or less?
Thank you for your kind attention.
To FS Sue:
Wow, what a story. You have lived three lives already, and sounds like you’re just getting started. Welcome to Silicon Valley, and good luck with school.
To RB Sue:
If you take one RB, add two parts chocolate, 1 part Flowers, and 3 parts groveling will you get AF (Agreable Female)?
Sili
Is there a rivalry between the babes that are naturally bountiful and the ones that are bountiful as the result of surgery?
I don’t think so…all men like different things.
Thanks for the welcome!
No, no matter what you do, you will never turn a RB into an AF. It’s just not in our nature to be agreeable because irrationality is in our blood.
In rare circumstances, you may see us cry or act somewhat sympathetic. This is a trick, we’re just trying to manipulate you.
Right now baby, you should ask Mr. Duhnym. He’s hiding in his office.
This one is for the RB:
My SO is a raving bitch. I’m kind of sensitive, and a bit emotional myself.
Do the two of us make a beneficial combination or a dangerous one?
Well, I am all of those things also, missy.
My question: DO you ever miss dancing?
