If you were actually ignoring it, then you wouldn’t be posting that you’re ignoring it. You can’t expect to get away with accusing someone of trolling when we’re discussing the fact that you can’t accuse someone of trolling.
Don’t accuse others of trolling, and “DFTT” (or “DNFTT”) most certainly fits there.
Were grants part of your decision? When my friend was going for her PhD in Art History (she ended up getting a master’s instead) she went to the school that gave her the most money to study there.
And since you’re planning on teaching- if you have loans, I believe you’ll be eligible to have all or most of them forgiven, is that correct?
ETA: Also, if you want to teach social studies- will you have to decide on a specific time period to teach? When I was in high school and middle school our history classes (we didn’t really have social studies per se aside from eighth grade civics) were divided into US history colonial period- 1865 and 1865-present.
Sorry, missed the edit window for one more thing. Do you mean government by social studies? I took civics in Eighth Grade- history classes for the rest of the time aside from my senior year of high school when we had the option of studying regular US Government, AP US government or AP Comparative Government which was one semester of US Government and one semester of studying the governments of a selection of several countries.
Which leads me to another question- do you think you’d be interested in teaching AP classes? I believe you have to go through additional certifications for that.
I didn’t know you had a kid etv78****- does your school have services to assist students with children?
I don’t think it’s actually that** uncommon for grad students to have kids, although it may be now since the job market is poorer and students may be less financially stable. But my parents had me when my dad was finishing up his PhD program and my mom said she was friends with other parents and married couples who were studying at the same school as him.
Just the type of person I want teaching my kids. There are many things lower than trolling parents of children with disabilities boards, I’m sure, but there’s no reason to scoop up all the prizes.
Is “trolling” really the right term for what he’s doing? I know he’s used the word himself for what he does on other message boards, but I thought trolls tried to get people riled up, not just get attention by making up pathetic stories. Maybe he does that on some boards, but the story about Frannie? And the one with the twins’ birth story? Those look like just playing pretend.
But being pathetic can elicit a desired response from people online too. I think the OP seeks to satisfy some compulsion or want from these various trolleries.
It was just a comment on etv78’s wish to have his thread locked; I said that seems to happen with a lot of his threads and I wonder why that is. Then I thought better of it. But there you go.
