Ask the guy who just finished grad school

Last Saturday I walked , and across stage, in my funny “Masters” hood and received an empty diploma holder (diplomas are on hold pending final semester grades).

But I am DONE. I can take the “(Candidate - May 2007)” out of my email signature after the name of my master’s program.

Did I mention I got a Master’s Degree?

Congradualtions…

So what’s your master’s in and how are you going to put it to use?

Basically international relations, but with a different name. I also have a certificate in a related field.

As far as what I’m going to do, I will deliver pizzas until a couple of law enforcement jobs finish the background checks.

Congratulations!

How did you decide what you wanted to get a degree in?
(Also, I read the title to this thread as “Ask the guy who just finished grade school”. Which would also make an interesting “Ask the…” thread.)

You list your master’s degree in your e-mail signature??

(But, congratulations! )

Congratulations! throws handful of sparkly confetti at you

What was the best (and worst) part of the whole experience?

Yeah. It was a peer pressure thing. I noticed my first semester that everyone seemed to be putting their degree in the signature along with contact information for job-search potential, so I went along with it.
And I decided on the subject of study because it was the most interesting to me at the time that we were forced to choose a specialization.
There were many good times, but the worst part was seeing my friends trickle out of town after graduation, many of whom I will likely never see again.
