Ok now to some answers.

Homosexuality:
Well of course there are a lot of Gay and lesbian muslims.I mean what do you think the dudes in places like afghanistan are supposed to do when the only glimpse of females they catch is when they are covered in a black costume.Just kidding,however sexual frustration does exist in places like that.I mean its true 'cos i have seen it.
Well the Quran does indeed contain verses on homosexuality.It is really condemmed and considered very shameful.In the Quran it says that if you find two men guilty of…you know,then both must be punished by locking them up until they agree never to do it again after which they must be forgiven in every way and God will also forgive them.It may sound very strict.It does to me since these days being gay is no big deal however i dunno much about gay guys.I mean i wonder if its a matter of choice or you just are gay and can’t help it.e.g i’m attracted to chicks and can’t help it 'cos its a part of the way i am and its a natural thing.However it is really unnatural,so i dunno.I can’t say anything 'cos gay people might be offended as i am not knowlegeable about the subject to say anything about it.However the fact remains that Islam does not want such sexual orientation in an islamic society so it is not a matter of burning in hell or becoming a non-muslim,but it is more a matter of keeping the society straight(no pun intended).

Is it possible to be a good muslim and a homosexual?
Well thats easy.The answer is no.The reason is simple.Since islam forbids it,so you will be thinking you are a bad muslim all the time.I feel sorry for your lesbian friend.I have heard that lesbian sex is better than straight sex but where does it all end.Isn’t it a kinda empty way to go through life.Also since lesbian sex means extramaritial
so it is not a good idea to wanna be a good muslim and a lesbian.At least an islamic marriage between the same sex is not permitted.A good idea would be to become an atheist as they don’t have anything against it so at least your concience would be clear,but what i wonder is where does it all end.I mean why do you want to lead an empty existence.In Islam sex is something sacred,so is the family and husband wife relationship where it is specifically stated that you cannot deprive your wife of her right.Islam is about a loving family and caring for your wife or husband.Sex is something that must be enjoyed in a natural amount.It should not become an obsession or a rarity in a husband/wife relationship.Islam is about more than sex and your friend should make a choice.I know things like this are hard,but homosexuality is just considered unnatural in Islam,however it is a forgivable thing and will be forgiven when you decide to leave it and lead a normal life.God knows best.

However she can call herself a muslim since it is not something that will make you a non-muslim though i don’t think god will be very happy if you keep on doing something he forbids.

Middle east conflict:
Definitely Arab/Jewish.I live in Pakistan and here we don’t really care much about the middle east thingy.Apart from the fact that we are not allowed to go to Israel.I wonder why i am not allowed to go to Israel 'cos i have a Pakistani passport,however thats how it is.It is not really a muslim/jewish conflict 'cos Muslims in places like Indonesia and Nigeria will be indifferent about the conflict or jewish emnities(I am still a matrix fan).Though since we do know that muslims are being oppressed so i can’t help feeling sympathy for the Palestinians when i hear about the conflict on CNN.

Sorry dude.Didn’t mean to insult you.I didn’t mean atheists had an empty existence.I was referring to lesbians.Now don’t tell me that this insulted you too :slight_smile:

Actually let me state what i believe about atheists.I think they are pretty sensible.There is so much utter confusion in religion that you have two ways to go about it.

1)Form your own perception of religion but don’t adhere to any particular scholar or religious leaders teachings.I mean its your religion and God did not appoint anyone except the messengers to convey it so why adopt anyone elses interpretation of things.Doesn’t it kinda kill the purpose.This is something that you cannot really do with religions like christianity since the church is(or has made itself)the basis of religion.Its pretty easy in Islam since it is very much encouraged(by God).

2)Become an atheist since thats the only way out of the confusing mess that we’ve turned religion into.

Well thats my view of things though in the end the choice is yours.I believe in God and after reading the Quran i got a to thinking about God and I kinda found my path and my beliefs myself with only the words of God to Guide me.If it had not been so i would have become an atheist myself since it is the easiest way out.

No offence meant,sorry if my style of writing made the sentence sound like that.I meant an empty existence in like not having a beautiful family and nasty kids.
