remember earlier..that whole blackbird theory…its that one guy did it one time and everyone followed probably because some reviewer said it was hot.
I wish I could, I’d get rich, for me it was just always there even before porn and that probably explains why I found performing easy.
Speaking of that theory…what caused the proliferation of anal scenes in porn these days? I’m a little squicky about anal sex to a degree…I am sure many others feel that way about it too…so why is it so popular?
Very relevant I do a lot of video production that is mainstream for some companies recognized world wide. I have had bit parts in indy movies, commercials and such and I have done a lot of mainstream production work.
OH ya and there are those who loathe me as well…hard as that may be to believe LOL
Hate may be too strong a word because it requires more effort than I would put into a relationship but I am very critical of the people in this biz whom I believe are putting the business in danger, Rob Black is such a character and I can assure you he has no love for me either. Ditto a fellow who called himself Khan Tusion, I outed him as the brother of radio talk show host Bill Handel (Handel on the law)
I have no love for anyone who mistreats the talents or tries to scam the girls, if you read www.mikesouth.com (NSFW) then you can see that as recently as yesterday I was critical of the Free Speech Coalition and of Fabian Thylmann, arguably the most powerful man in porn. But don’t think Im just some guy making noise, I do have influence as would anyone with 20+ years in the biz…If you look at the comments you see a fellow named Nathan who comments…Nathan is Fabian Thyllman.
Im not trying to be self aggrandizing (OK not much) just trying to give you an idea of the focus of my blog in answering this question. Generally the people in my biz who treat people fairly and dont do scummy things like me and the others dont but they ALL read my blog.
Its a natural progression I think I dont care if the girl does “A” or not I want her to stay within her comfort zone. but back to your question theres only so many different ways you can film people fornicating and porners got into this idea that they need to set themselves apart somehow like Greg Dark did and part of that was moving to less common acts and eventually to trainwrecks (101 chopsticks in a vagina, 500 man gangbangs, and what not) so anal was just part of a natural progression I expect.
So, did you learn anything you can pass on?
I’d like to take a moment to thank all the folks participating in this thread, it has been interesting and satisfying for me, fun even and I look forward to it’s continuing.
I really want to point out that I noticed that in spite of its popularity and all it has been completely non judgmental, I can’t say I have ever had that happen before
Thanks Y’all!

yes i expect so.
I speak in generalities here:
Women are probably more freaky than men are sexually, a good open communication may well open your sex life to things you only dreamed about. As an example I have found that a large number of women under 40 either are bisexual or have fantasized about it and if they are comfortable with you they will try it. I dont mean strippers and pornchicks either.
They like the sex to be exciting sometimes make it an adventure mix it up I had no idea how many females like their hair pulled during sex for example. But the key is to ask even a girl you have been dating or married to for ten years may be afraid to share her fantasies with you because of how you might react, tear down that wall and get comfy with each other, be honest, non judgmental and treat her like a best friend AND a lover.
We are increasingly becoming a society in which women have more and more power over men and in looking to their mate they want you to be the authority figure, they want you to make them feel safe and they dont want to be able to walk all over you. Im not trying to be sexist here and again these are generalities but they are ideas you should explore and understand because that understanding will improve your relationship.
This all come from my being an unattached third party to so many of these girls for 20+ years, they will tell me things that they will not tell their mates because they dont worry what I will think of them. When you meet a girl for the first time, have sex with her, cum on her face and then go to dinner it creates a very different bond she is likely to tell me fantasies that she would like fulfilled because she trusts me, is comfortable with me but I am in no position at all to hurt her with my reactions. oddly it has been the basis of some of my very best and most satisfying friendships, even the ones without “benefits”
Is sex different with a seasoned porn actress than with a normal girl? Like, are they louder, and go into more acrobatical positions, etc?
How does it work with anal sex. In the movies I guess you always use enemas before the scenes? Going from anal sex to blowjobs seems to me to be one of the more crazy moves that are often depicted in porn, but that I wouldn’t consider in real life.
The obscenity laws are a travesty, don’t you think? Not only an affront on your personal liberty, but also with the ridiculous aspect that no one knows what will be judged “obscene”. Drug laws are obviously more harmful overall, but obscenity laws seem in that aspect even worse, to me.
Well, if you want judgmental replies, keep up the political talk!
I have to say…this definitely would NOT be the best plan for all women…LOL…
20-some years ago (back in the VHS days!) I read an interview in Hustler with Eve Howard, one of the founders of Shadow Lane, an outfit that makes erotic spanking videos. She was describing how a spanking scene might play out, and Hustler asked, “And then they have sex?” Eve said something to the effect of, “No, it’s illegal to combine the spanking with sex on film”. The implication being, of course, that the spanking (or bondage, or other painful BDSM) could be seen as coercing/forcing the woman into having sex.
I don’t know if it is/was specifically “illegal”, or if Eve was merely referring to the “community standards” thing MikeSouth mentions. In my experience with modern, USA-produced BDSM/spanking porn, most of the reputable studios that do the real, quality stuff (like, say, kink .com) still maintain a degree of separation. The usual format is to interview the actress on-camera before the “action” starts, giving her the opportunity to confirm that she is a willing participant and to spell out exactly what she’s willing to do. Even then, once the action starts, they keep the pain and the sex separate - there will be some spanking/whipping/clamping/etc., and then there will be a break in the action where the male participant goes off-camera and then comes back “later” for the sex scene. This reduces the chance of it looking like “I’m gonna beat you until you agree to have sex”. Then, once everything is done, they interview the woman again, letting her reconfirm that the whole scene was consensual and to describe how she felt while it was going on.
OTOH, there is a line between the real, “hardcore” BDSM stuff, and the “playful” stuff. Slapping the woman’s butt while having sex and maybe some light bondage is quite different from the “hard” BDSM. I don’t think there’s any defined “line” between the two; it’s more of a “you know the difference when you see it” thing.
So, how “tight” is the amateur porn “community?” You mention that you’ve worked with a lot of performers (Lisa Sparxxx, for instance), but some of them run their own websites, too. Do you see them (Jeanswing from Kentucky, for example), as competitors, or as peers, or both?
When a performer operates her own website, do you share the video content, or is it exclusive to each site?
What are some aspects of porn that you find annoying? It could be trends, particular genres, things that clueless newbies tend to do that are irritating, etc.
For me, I really despise the whole “bro porn” thing, with the guy behind the camera cracking jokes with the male performer as he’s doing the girl. I don’t even want to see the guy’s face, let alone hear his cheesy commentary. The other thing that annoys me is when there are obvious camera flashes going off, as someone takes pictures of the scene to post on a website. I find that to be incredibly tacky.
Pretty tight actually, we help each other more often than not and I dont see them as competitors at all usually and even if they are theres room for both of us.
WheN I shoot Lisa Sparxxx or Alexis Golden or others its usually a straight up content share, nobody gets paid we both use the content sometimes we shoot twice, she gets one shoot to use exclusively I get the other generally thats how it works.
Im with ya on the bro porn thing no doubt meat puppets should be seen and heard as little as possible LOL
another annoyance for me is the lack of any build up to the scene that has become so prevalent. I hated the “dutch” camera angles they used to do all the time but that has kinda faded away.
There are also things I wont do…for example ass to mouth, it puts the girls health in danger, same with choking a girl nor will I let a guy spit on a girl even if she likes it I dont.
That said I have a couple of models who love golden showers after the bukkakes, if she likes it then its fine by me. I will even film it but I am very careful about how that part is edited, it has to be 100% obvious that it is her idea and that she is having fun with it.
This thread is very interesting, and I’m glad this isn’t similar to that ‘Ask the Pormographer’ thread over on the Giraffe Boards.
It’s surprising that even in niche areas that people are willing to pay for porn.
See, now that’s my problem. I always take them to dinner first, then cum on their faces, and it never works out. Stupid! :smack:
Do you ever get couples coming to you wanting to do a scene together (with or without additional participants)? Or is it always individuals?
How big a deal is the record keeping related to proving everyone is over 18? Do you just sort of take a copy of everyone’s drivers license and keep it in a file in case you get audited? Or is there some periodic reporting obligation to some authority? Have you ever found out after the fact that an under-18 presented you a fake ID? What did/would you do in that case? Do the authorities run stings similar to how they go around looking for businesses selling tobacco or alcohol to minors?
