Dear “Straight” Guy:
Something I’ve always wondered: Why do straight guys hoot, holler, whistle, honk their horns, shout rude things, and generally make asses of themselves when they are driving their cars and observe a female pedestrian? What exactly do they hope to accomplish by this action? Please enlighten me.

Actually, child molesters tend not to sex-select their victims. Victim choice is based largely on opportunity. Male offenders who are heterosexual in their relations with adults will stiil predate on male children if that is their opportunity. Child molestation is based largely in power dynamics, not the sex of the victim.

Again, I don’t condone the flaunting of it; I believe overt sexual behavior should be toned down a bit. You can’t watch a night of TV without a reference to sex.

Yes, I’m aware of all those “findings”. What you don’t know is that the APA caved into the liberal gay agenda on the re-definition. Psychologists can’t even suggest nowadays that Homosexuality can be treated, lest they be chastised. Even reparitive therapy, which the militant gay agenda won’t tolerate, is under attack. What’s wrong with a homosexual, who’s suffering in his sexuality, wanting to get help?
No, but homosexual ones are. It’s well known the homosexual lifestyle is inherently selfish and self-gratifying. It is based on narcissism and self-obsession. The argument of “I have no choice” is pure nonsense. Even in gay society monogamy is NOT the norm, it is the exception. Commitment is not a word included in homosexual vernacular, yet sanctioned unions are now at the top of their agenda along with the right to have children.

Christianity, truth be told, should be following the teachings of Christ. Christ never mentioned hating or hurting homosexuals. That comes from the Old Testament. And if you check carefully, following both the Old and the New Testament will turn you into a Schizophrenic.

I’m sorry, I was just posting the written position of an established psychological authority - I didn’t personally make any staements one way or the other. You asked a question, I posted an answer from an acknowledged expert. Sorry if it doesn’t jive with you.
Have I, personally, heard of Exodus? Yes. I’ve also heard of Michael Busse and Gary Cooper, who founded it in 1976. After 3 years they left the organization - as lovers - saying it was, “ineffective… not one person was healed.”

Absolutely - but logic seems to have no place in some people’s lives, and they continue believing the fallacy that “gay man” automatically means “child molester.”
The stat I picked up from the Dept. of Justice, and I posted them elsewhere (I think in the “How could the church let this happen?” thread). It also mentions the stats on female child molesters, but they are extraordinarily low, and of those, almost all are women who seduce young men, so female child molesters who seduce girls are the lowest percentage.

You’re right, andros - Pashley’s behavior is, thankfully, not what I would consider Christian in any sense of the word. Fortunately, I know he doesn’t speak for all Christians (or really anyone but his own lonesome self), so, fortunately, I can continue to love Christians.

Good point, Otto, but the cite I quoted really was that the vast majority of child molesters are men who molest girls. How many of those men are heterosexual and homosexual otherwise? That stat I don’t have, nor do I think the DoJ has, either. Still, if we go by the stat as Occam pointed out, 90% of 93% is still the vast majority. (I’ll have to look up those stats I found…)

If you believe that homosexuality is a sin, you believe that homosexuals are going to hell. If you hate homosexuals, why are you trying to save them? It would seem that the thought of all the sinners, who refuse to see the errors of their ways, burning eternally in hell, would be pleasing to a good, God-fearing Christian. What is your motive in concerning yourself with them at all? Should you not be pleased with your righteous self, knowing that you will be sitting on a sterile cloud one day after your passing, whilst the sinners get what they deserve? Does your heart not fill with pure joy knowing that you are clearly better than they are, and that you will reap your eternal reward in the Kingdom?
