Admittedly, I have often posted from my home office, but that doesn’t count, because I have tons of down time (i’m a musician and concert promoter - when it’s slow its slow)
But on Wednesdays I engineer for one of the local bluegrass stalwarts (The Cork & Bottle String Band) at a local club (The Portal, for the Madison dopers) that I produce. And they finally hooked the engineer computer to the web.
So I’m posting from the sound booth, drinking beer and occasionally twiddling knobs. This is great. Man, this is one hell of a way to pass the time.
Where have you guys posted from that wasn’t a straight ahead office?
Yea, I’ve posted from numerous wi-fi enabled coffee shops on the road, but never from a sound booth in a club.
The band’s on break. I just did a shot of Turkey with the banjo player. It’s doubly cool because I’m running the set break music from my iPod. Currently, we’re enjoying a little live Del McCoury.
I guess the next trick is to see how much I can drink and manage to not screw up the sound (pretty hard to do at this point) and continue to drink.
Oh, and RYBTP - the life of a musician is indeed glamorous. But poor, my friend, very poor. If I didn’t promote shows and engineer on the side, I’d be living in a cardboard box. But the perks of the job are indeed sweet, I must admit.
