Heightist!
P.S. Good luck with your move. The rule I followed at my last move: if I haven’t opened this box for the past 7 years I 've lived here, I obviously don’t need to move it to the new place. (Of course, it’s hard to resist the urge to take a peek and then move it anyway.)
I absolutely can’t follow that rule, Arnold. A lot of the boxes I have I haven’t opened in a long time, but that’s because I haven’t had a place big enough to put the stuff, so I’m keeping it until I do. Things like keepsakes from my grandparents, for example. Also I don’t know where things such as the VHS tape of my son’s birth and a ton of photos are, so I can’t just indiscriminately throw away boxes.
I’ve found it useful to get a bunch of different-colored stickers to mark the boxes. Even if you just slap them on randomly, it brightens things up.
You know, a lot of people say this (I’ve heard this several times from different people) but I can pretty much guaran-damn-tee that no-one has ever thrown out a box without checking the contents first.
Opal, too bad you live in Hotlanta. I’d offer to help if only you lived closer.
FTR, I don’t think asking should be the least bit awkward. Some people love to help others and you’d never know unless you ask.
I’ve found some lost treasures for sure going through old boxes. I found my prom dress, for one thing! It still fits except the boobs (didn’t have those in high school)
And, good golly do you look smokin’ hot in that dress! I’d suggest you get it altered to fit your new boobtastic frame, but where would you wear it?
I dunno, I’d find a place! I love that dress
(thanks, btw!)
I never went to the prom, probably because I dropped out of school. Thanks for bringing that up.
(Bump.)
I stayed in school, but also didn’t go to the prom, because I was obnoxious and unattractive.
Well yeah. I always looked in the box, but there were several boxes that I just threw away because I realized that those old computer printouts / skinny ties were not worth keeping.
Anybody want a Belgian waffle iron, an electric wok, an old vacuum cleaner…
I’ll take the wok, if it works.
Alternatively, I’ll take the work, if it woks.
It works. I used it once, then moved down here, and there isn’t room in my kitchen for it, so it has been sitting for 2 years on a shelf in the basement gathering dust. I figure if I need a wok in the future, I will get a new one. But probably not until I get a much larger kitchen!
Actually I have a ton of stuff that if nobody wants it, I’m gonna drag to Goodwill at the end of the day.
So, how are the plans shaping up? Have you reserved a truck, etc.?
The forecast for Saturday is for a high of about 90, with scattered thunderstorms.
Oh yeah the truck is all set and everything. The truck will actually be here Friday evening. We’re hoping to get started Saturday in the morning before it gets hot.
You made great time getting home.
I went to the store on the way home, too
Did someone say boobs?
