Alright “Kay”, I am willing to be optimistic here and give you the benefit of the doubt. You are new, perhaps you did not know that you were choosing a user name so close to an existing one. I would like to know why you chose this name, and further if it is your intention to keep it. I have had this name for almost 4 months now. I got the idea for it from one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs. The very song you seem to be quoting in your sig. As I cannot email you I am forced to post a thread concerning this.
Do any other dopers think I may be over-reacting here ? Is it just me ? I feel slightly angry and very suspicious. At the least, it will make others think this “Kay” and I are connected in some way (which we are not). At the worst, some one is trolling to piss me off. Well it worked.

My guess is that this is someone’s way of chiding you over your Napster stance. You thought about your name and your sig, now someone’s taken it and you feel ripped off and insulted. Kinda elegant.

I hardly feel that the couple of threads concerning Nap would be worth justifying a breech of the boards rules. Besides . . . I thought I was in the majority as far as my opinion goes. I suppose I could be wrong about this.
What makes less sense is why would someone do something like this specifically to spite me, and then not flaunt it ? I discovered the “other” screen name just lurking around IMHO.
I am still confused about this. Should I be mad ? Does anyone have any insight on this dilemna ?

All I can say, NM, is, you must not have been paying close attention during the entire months of May and June. It was User Name Ripoff City here for a while. Now that new registrations need e-mail confirmation, it seems to have slowed down somewhat. So chill. It’s possible that it’s just one of those things, you know, and not aimed directly at you. You say it’s from a song? Maybe KNM just likes the same kind of music you do.
My advice is to e-mail a mod, let your voice be heard, and then sit tight.
