If it’s definitely the 4th of June, I’m definitely out.
The problem with finding a date that everyone can make is that it’s impossible.
Re: time – how about 1:00? We can spend three or four hours there, then have an early dinner before folks get back on the road. I don’t know Wilmington at all, but there’s a good pizza place in Kennett Square, which is about 10 miles away (home of Longwood Gardens, the rival DuPont estate).

1 PM is dandy by me-my thought was that since folks will be arriving from several directions we should all have our eatery radar on and note something that looks good within a few miles, then compare notes and let the majority rule. Isn’t Democracy fun?
Too many years since I worked around Wilmington-anything I might remember is likely changed. Longwood in on the list for a potential MAD outing-my last visit there was over 20 years ago. 
A call today has reserved 1:00 PM on the 4th of June for the Cecil Adams party of 20. Of course, if we fall below that magic number, we pony up another 3 bucks each. The nice Winterthur lady offered information about local food/drink houses-it seems there’s a popular restaurant/watering hole across the street.

(Just came in to check the date and time – the first Saturday in June is the annual neighborhood flea market – guess I’ll hit that early and then head down to Delaware. Damn, a flea market, a museum, and Doperosity, all in one day. Life is good.)

Hokay. We are less than 2 weeks from our event date of June 4th. The Winterthur lady called me to confirm our reservation the other day, and advised that I must call her on or before the 28th with a final body count, and also pay for our group at that time, so you’ll be reimbursing me on the 4th, if you haven’t already paid your $.

I actually had seen it, I thought the cost of the ticket, plus a car, gas, food, etc., was just too much for me right now. Also, I figured I’d have seen everyone recently at Mississippiene’s party at Dave and Ginger’s, and would be seeing them again soon at Gettysburg. Since I missed the party, and since BK is pushing me to go, I’ll give it some thought, but I think I’ll just wait for Gettysburg. I definitely plan on coming to that. (I suppose I should go reply to that thread now.)
I’m out for Winterthur; I’ve decided to spend another week or so here in Texas, so we won’t be back until the 3rd, but then we’re spending the weekend in Pittsburgh. I can’t tell you how excited I am by that.
