Words fail me…comparing his problems to Terri’s. One of the few times I agree with Michael Schiavo.
Delay is a snake.

Tom DeLay claims that what is happening to Terry Schiavo (which he describes as Americans pulling the feeding tube from a lucid woman and letting her starve to death) is the same thing that is happening to him (r.e. the ethics investigation into his fundraising).
Then he says that he wants to get churches back into politics by changing the law so that they won’t lose their tax-exempt status if they play politics.
There’s more of course. The left-wing media is out to get him by attacking him personally, it’s all George Soros’ fault, Hillary Clinton has implanted a mind control device in his left nut…OK I made that last one up. Let’s all have a moment of silence for poor, downtrodden, put-upon Rep. DeLay.
Tom, do us all a favor and crawl back under your rock. Stay out of politics, stay out of the lives of the American people and just shut your trap.
Let Delay Die With Dignity!
…and upon refresh it looks like Reeder beat me to the punch by a minute.

Mods, please feel free to close this (as much as I think that DeLay deserves a double-barrelled pitting).
Sometimes people used to getting globs of attention need to be taken by the lapels, jacked up against the wall, and told:
IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU, YOU STUPID MAN!
Merged the two threads.
Veb
Sure he is: he’s brain dead.
Believe it or not I typed that into my OP and then deleted it, thinking it was pretty insulting to the lady in question.
It’s an insult to anyone to imply they have anything in common with that ghoulish motherfucker.
It’s a pleasure to share a thread with you…
But you are coreect…there can’t be to many threads denigrating the snake.
What’s the big deal here? We remove his food and water and let him die a peaceful death. Sounds like he wants it that way to me.
I’m quite tempted to write him a snailmail ripping him a new one, but I don’t need any black vans outseide my door.
This asshole has to be aware of our displeasure.
Defend this leader of the wing of the pubbie party y’all love so much.
It’s terrible.
But I fear that too.
It’s sad.
Oh come off it. I sent Tom DeLay a nasty letter and nothing bad has happened to me at all.
On a completely unrelated note, I wonder why that pizza delivery van has been parked outside my house for the last three days.
I do love the fact that I’m always lumped in with the et al.
Tom DeLay is a pretty capable politician, and certainly doesn’t need me to help defend him. While my positions align with his pretty well, his tactics are at times ones I wouldn’t take.
I haven’t weighed in much on the Schiavo matter, though I do have strong opinions here. Treating these poor folks as political footballs has been unseemly, and I don’t want much part of it. For that reason alone, I wish DeLay’s remarks here had been more circumspect.
I hate to disappoint you here, Reeder, but my affiliation with the Republican Party is far less emotional and reflexive than your hatred of it. Calling my leaders on a particular failing is something I won’t hesitate to do, and you’ll see me do it far more often than you’ll give us credit for anything good.
Have the pubbies do something good for all of us and we will see.
I dunno, friend elucidator likes to refer to the reptilian House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay, R-Undead.
There is nothing they could do that would satisfy you.
To be honest, all I’ve really seen you do, and I recall you doing this twice lately, is to say “Yes but”, and go on to excuse their behavior as best you can. You even once invoked the “and you Democrats would do the same thing too” charge that I have come to see as the weakest line of argument ever created in the history of arguments.
If you believe you are willing to criticize Republicans, frankly, I’d love to see it. If your calling out of Tom Delay is “he’s a capable politician but I wish he had been more circumspect,” well, you’ll forgive me if I think a little less of your ability to criticize members of the right than you do.
