Attn: Snowglobe Collectors

I am giving a snowglobe as a Christmas gift. It is very pretty (comes from Austria), but the base of it is cheap black plastic.

How hard would it be for me to first of all find a wooden base, and secondly replace the plastic one with the wooden one?

I did a search on GOOGLE, but what turned up were images of bases available for download, and the word tubes was used. I have no idea what this is!

Thanks for your help!

Look at the bottom of the base. Can you remove the bottom? If so, you should be able to see how the globe is attached. If it’s glued you MIGHT be able to take it off and re-glue it to a wooden base.
