Audrey gets the boot (Big Brother 17)

If you don’t know who Audrey is, she’s the first transgendered person to play on a live reality show. I had so hoped that she’s play a great, honorable, intelligent game as the first representative of her community on BB.

She let me down. If you followed the show, you only saw half of it. If you read the blogs and the summaries of the after hours stuff you’d see that she just didn’t have the emotional stamina to handle the game. She came across really well to begin with, smart, intelligent, stable, and possibly a contender for the win. Then she lost it. She hid in the diary room for hours, missed events, trashed a room (not shown in the show), didn’t follow the rules (eating forbidden food) and generally acted like a she was trying to earn her eviction.

I’m disappointed in you Audrey, you missed a great opportunity.

Audrey’s not the only one to cause my views to change over the course of the show. I still want James to win or at least finish well. I also like Shelli and Becky as front runners.

I’m pleased with the evictees so far. I’ve mellowed a bit on a few of them and still have a few I don’t care for. I’m about done caring about the twins and wouldn’t mind seeing them gone.

Audrey pissed in her own soup as best I could tell. But we’re now down to a group I don’t mind watching.

Yeah. I don’t mind Audrey leaving, because I don’t see the least bit of transphobia in it. She screwed up her own game by playing so hard, so early, then just falling to pieces when she was called on it. I haven’t been particularly happy with almost any of the LGBT houseguests since Marcellus, to be honest. Very few of them have been good representatives.

I know she deserved to get what she got and all. But I can’t help but feel sorry for her.

Even though she caused her own probs, going into that house as the first trans-gendered person must have been like carrying an extra ton of weight on her shoulders.

It was just so sad.

But I can’t help but wonder how she could possibly have looked so beautiful. For the longest time I thought it might have been some knd of joke because it was just so difficult to believe any TG person could possibly looked that beautiful.

I’m still shaking my head at the whole thing.

It’s just a real shame that she had to suffer as much as she likely did at what happened. Maybe it would have just been better if the producers never even cast a TG person?

But, then again, if she wanted to try to represent, it’s pretty hard to try and deny her for any reason.

All in all, just a very sad episode.

I kind of think that the possibility of getting a transgender person on the show made production skimp a bit on the psych testing. I do feel sorry for her, and I admire her for not quitting when that must have been incredibly tempting. But the way she fell apart the last week or so does not indicate strong mental health.

BB has a history of emotionally unstable people.

Chima, Russell Hantz Cousin, Evel Dick,

What was her penalty vote for?

The omelet James made for her. She was a have-not and she ate it anyway.
