Australia: the Land (Down Under) of Superheroes

Some of you might have missed it a couple of weeks ago. May 1 was the annual Free Comic Book Day. One customer in an Australian comic book store took it a little too literally and tried to steal an expensive book. The owner and a couple of other customers confronted and stopped the theft. The cool part, they were dressed as Spider-Man, the Flash, and a couple of Jedi Knights. Story here.

But that’s not the only story of derring-do in the home of the didgeridoo. Just this week, 3 men mugged a German medical exchange student in Sydney. The problem, it was in an alley behind a ninja school. Upon hearing the commotion, five ninjas (in full garb) rushed out of the school and stopped the beating. Story here.

Word of warning: don’t try to fucking steal anything in Australia.

Nice OP Name/Post Combo there.

Thanks, Logan.

Nerds…

(Just kidding; I would have been wearing my green lantern costume) ;)

I’m just trying to picture the expressions on the faces of the robbers when freaking ninjas run out and beat them up.

Actually, while the OP’s BBC story is a bit vague on exactly what happened, this story from the Sydney Morning Herald notes that:

The Far Side has been here.
