I will gladly watch 24 once it starts again. Jack Bauer is simply one of my favorite TV characters of all time. As long as Jack is still there, I will keep watching.
There is an interesting spoiler I long to see.
I’m a huge fan of 24, and no matter how long the wait is between seasons, I’ll be there with bells on the night of the next season’s premiere. 24 and Lost are the only shows that I watch where consistently things happen every season that make me go “Yeah! Now THAT’S why I watch this show!”
However, I don’t know if the ratings will stay aloft for it since it’ll have been 2 years since it last aired. TV viewer attention spans are notoriously short.
I don’t know. I had a gander at 24’s message boards yesterday, and there’s a guy on there who is literally posting once a day for the sole purpose of counting down the number of days left until the show airs again.
borschevsky, thanks for the info. I will definitely make a point of watching the movie, and that may determine a lot about whether or not I watch the next season.
A friend of my family was set to play the President before the writer’s strike. I hope that is still a go. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say that the initials are CJ. If this has been confirmed, I would appreciate knowing.
No offense to your familiy friend, but I’m kinda hoping to see Chloe as President of the USA.
After watching the trailer:
I can’t help but feel that the Day 7 plot seem to be substantially ripped off from Die Hard 2 and Die Hard 4.
Also:
Making Tony a villain is a slap in the face (even if he’s going to switch sides or something during the course of the season).
The initials match.
Spoiler omitted lest it show up in email.
Loyalties are not safe. I was annoyed when Black Bauer aka “the guy on First Wave” went ballistic on Dr. Bashir.
I saw the first couple programs and felt like I was being waterboarded. Have not even considered looking in again.
I think there’s a difference between:
Someone having a moment of temporary insanity when in the presence of a man who killed several of his comrades.
and:
Someone creating an organization to launch a terrorist attack on the US.
Still, point taken. The characters will do whatever the plot wants them to.
I hadn’t read details of the second spoiler.
I just knew that
Tony was coming back as a bad guy. Despite being dead.
Maybe the mountain lion will be featured again.
I inferred that from watching this trailer. I could be wrong. Day 6 was terrible, and even if it wasn’t, the series would still likely be wearing thin to me. I’ll probably Wikipedia the plot synopses if I decide I want to know what happens.
Yes, but he’s a crazy internet person. And we all know there are two types of people that watch TV shows. Normal people and crazy internet people. I was commenting on the normal people’s attention spans.
As for what’s been commented on in the spoilers, I’m going to add:
I believe I read somewhere their excuse for him able to come back from the dead is that they never gave him a silent clock, whereas when other major characters die they always get a silent clock at the end of the episode.
So this is what the coroner looks for? Not a heartbeat, a pulse or even a fogged mirror?
Well, to be fair, every other major character got one and to not give one to
Tony
was just in poor taste. She/He had to still be alive.
So, it was, like, a clew and not the “slap in the face” it was construed to be at the time, right?
I am not a Crazy Internet Person.
Is the other trailer still up anywhere? The only one I can seem to find is the one with Kiefer thanking the fans in the UK at the beginning.
Oh, and the one set to “The Boys are Back in Town.”
grumble
I’m sitting here trying to decide whether I want to read all these spoilers or not. May you all be damned to cleaning Martha Logan’s soiled linens in the looney bin for torturing me.
Man, that’s cold. Waterboarding, shocked with a table lamp cord, car door slammed on our fingers by Jack, I could understand, but that?
I’d say don’t read them. Wish Ididn’t know now what I didn’t know then, etc.
Actually, that reminds me of something that I was confused about in Season 6.
Is Logan actually dead? I seem to remember him being stabbed and being carted off in an ambulance, but was there any indication of if he was alive or dead at any time? I feel like they just sort of dropped that storyline completely.
Spoiler’d the question just in case, but it only applies to season 6 so if you’ve already seen it there’s nothing extra in it.
