I really love this one. Looks like it was taken right after the victory was assured and announced on the news, and Obama himself looks like he can hardly believe it. What a grin!

Is anyone else struck by the part where, despite all the blather about family values for the past bazillion years, this is the first time in ages that an actual family is moving into the White House? When the four of them are together, they radiate a sense of family-ness that’s almost palpable.
I can’t find the article right now, but yesterday I read that their priority is to keep the girls’ lives as close to normal as possible, so they’ll probably keep making their own beds, taking the lessons and playing the sports they play today, stick to their bedtimes, and maybe keep getting their $1/week allowance. How many other Presidents-elect have walked their kids to school the day after the election? (Gosh, I hope they got to go in late!). Talk about family role models!
I just hope they can come close to living up to all of our expectations.

Yeah, we have to go all the way back to the Clintons in 1992. They do seem to exude more “family charm” then any first family in my personal recollection, to be fair.
