Back Button Songs

I can’t listen to Wicked Little Town (reprise) from Hedwig and the Angry Inch original cast recording without hitting the back button, sometimes more than once.

The Old 97s’ Drag It Up album take awhile to get through because the opening track Won’t Be Home, Smokers and Adelaide always get repeated and sometimes The New Kid.

It doesn’t matter which album or compliation I’m listening to, Leonard Cohen’s **Hallelujah **and Everybody Knows both get more than one play.

I’ve got a compliation CD that has the song Sunny by Boney M. That’s usually good for a back button press.

When I listen to the soundtrack from The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, it take a couple of tries to get past Lena Horne’s A Fine Romance

What are the songs that always make you hit the back button for an encore performance?

I’m thinking about a mix CD with all back-button songs. I think I have several CDs worth, but might not actually make the collection because I’ve already put most of them on other CDs.

However, it would be weird to do since I would be conflicted as to skipping back and playing the song over, or waiting for the next one!

Oh, Og - So many! Just a few off the top of my head:

Gladstone Pier - Redgum
1952 Vincent Black Lightning - Richard Thompson
He Ran Out of Road - Albion Band
Memo From Turner - Mick Jagger
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zep
Pentire Town - Bluehorses
Montrose - Steeleye Span
The Gypsy - Mr Fox
Lord Randall - Urban Folk
Country Life - Show of Hands

I think I’d better stop there!
