What was the latest song you replayed right after listening?

You’re cruising along listening to your iPod, or playing music on your computer, or even on CD. And you come across a song, and the second it finishes you have to replay it again. What was the last song you replayed like this?

For me, the last one was Paul Simon’s “Obvious Child”. I’d listen to it over and over again, it’s a unique song…I’ve never heard another pop song with a drumbeat like that. Before that it was Michelle Shocked’s “Cold Comfort”.

So what was your last replayed song, and why?

Windy

Action Adventure by Andrew Bird. It’s catchy. Last week it was Fake Palindromes also by Andrew Bird. He’s just terribly ear-wormish to me.

Other frequent replayers are Imogen Heap and a couple of songs by Bjork.

My daughter gave me Neko Case’s Fox Confessor Brings The Flood for my birthday. As soon as Hold On, Hold On finished, I played it again (and then again. My wife made me stop).

Easy, from the Barenaked Ladies’ new album. The whole album is so freaking sweet that I played it straight through three times right after I bought it.

The last two (within the past half hour or so!) were Vancouver by Jeff Buckley and On Love, In Sadness by Jason Mraz.

I wasn’t able to get that specific song from playing on a loop in my head like all weekend.

Last night I replayed Frank Zappa’s “G-Spot Tornado” (the version from The Yellow Shark) three times in succession.

“Going Crazy 2” by the Beat Assassins. Why? It’s so damn catchy  You can listen to part of it here, though “2” is probably a slight remix of the one on their site.

Weird Al Yankovitz’s “The Saga Begins”. I’m way behind the times, but I just stumbled upon it on youtube last night and played it 3 times in a row. "My, my, this here Anikin guy, maybe Vader someday later, now he’s just a small fry. He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye, saying ‘Soon I’m going to be Jedi.’ " That is just hi-larious.

Wonderwall by Oasis. Yeah, it’s a classic. So what?

Phantom Limb by The Shins. I love the song and my baby was fussy during the ride home from daycare and the song seemed to soothe her, so I played it again.

That whole album is terrific!

Technically, it was Weird Al’s “Yoda” (who knew he’d get two songs in this thread?) but that was partly because I was messing with the headphones the first time, and the second time I just let it play on the speakers.

Last time for the reasons given in the OP (coolness), it was probably ‘Go’ (cover version by Sparklehorse et al.).

Summer Rain by Belinda Carlisle. Quite pretty.

Most recent, you mean? I can take you there.

It was on A Prairie Home Companion Jan/20/07 show at time mark 00:48:28. The song is by Erin Bode and is called “Holiday.”

If you want to hear it, click on this link and “fast forward” up to counter 15:22 for the intro to the singer, or to 16:00 for the song itself. Some nice piano work made me backtrack and hear it again.

“Carbon,” by Tori Amos. I just bought Scarlet’s Walk and put it on my iPod. Captivating record.

NightWish - Sleeping Sun (2005 version). Yeah, I was pretty down at the time.

“Love Rollercoaster” – the original by whomever they were, not the Red Hot Chile Peppers version.

Whoo hooo hoo.

Several songs off Hearts Greatest Hits 1985-1995. Nothing At All, Alone and I Didn’t Want To Need You all got played several times in quick succession.

Ditto! I also replayed “Needle Touched Down” a few times. Today, actually!

Also, “Satellite” by Guster.

hah
I used to love that song; I didn’t even know that the RHCP covered it.

Me: Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones. I can never listen to that song just once.
