It’s mostly cloudy all day here. I went out briefly to the store, when it looked like it wouldn’t rain (trying not to get my stitches wet.) Avoided rain successfully. Wondering what to do with the rest of the day, especially seeing that most stores are closed. May stay in and practice my clarinets, plus make music arrangements.
Got a few things to do today, but nothing big.
Tomorrow is going to be [bleep] insane at irk.
Someone needs to cook out…not me. Too much work…i like labor day to be unlaborious…maybe mr.wrekker will get crazy and do something…i can see he is getting hungry!
We were busy at work. Surprising, because the Likker Sto is closed today. But no conference call, so there was that.
Have a beer?
I cleaned the smoker. Go Me! After that I made ham 'n cheese omelets, grits, and toast for brunch. We spent some time at the cee-mint pond, came in, cleanded up and went for the geezer discount special at Golden Corral which runs from two to four p.m. Monday - Firday. Now we’re back at cave and chillage ensues. Not a bad way to spend Labor Day. Some labor then leisure.
Merged them. Thought I did it right to get Doggio’s title up top, but not.
Sorry about that. Want me to edit the title?
It’s OK. Let Mooommmm! have her little petty victories. ;)
Oh, doggio, you are such the gentleman… Congrats for recognizing that mine was the better start!
I knew there was a chore I forgot - my smoker is still icky. Oh well…
Supper was a hunk of brisket I had in the freezer, instant smashed N.O.T.s, Amish 'maters, and steamed broccoli. We’s both stuffded! 'Twas yum! Thus endeth my long long weekend, alas.
Thus Moanday and Labor Day wind down. We shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Napped this afternoon, played a little soccer pre-dinner, and have eaten same.
So passeth another day.
Alright already – play nice or I’m turning this MMP around and nobody gets any ice-cream!
KI was much fun and I thought about Spidey while on the rides ---- there was a gaggle of balloons flying past. I came straight from Cincy to work and just got home so I’ll be a day or three catching up.
Local skoolz start tomorrer, the day after Labor Day…as it should be!
One of the local elementary schools has a temporary, “Zombie” light up sign up since last week. Two screens - “DRIVE CAREFULLY” & “School starts 9/5”; the problem? The sign is after the school, at the end of their property rather than the beginning of it. :smack:
Why is it when two people do it, it’s kinky; when one does it, it’s perverted?
Depends upon your neighbors.
Okay!
We had a veerry dangerous () breakfast today, complete with flames (bananas Foster) & Sabers (to open the Champagne)! It was practice day with the new saber. We were all successful, with me being the best at it.
We were standing up, saying our goodbyes, when the host looked at his watch & stated it’s lunch time, & asked if we wanted steaks for lunch. He ran to the supermarket, got steaks for all of us; cooked to order over a real (charcoal) grill, with a side of nummy handmade/homemade French fries & some salad. I had some of a biiiggg T-bone & didn’t really want to eat dinner as I was still stuffed. Of course, this cut into the time that I was supposed to do things, but…“La Vee”
I’m feeling rather bummed just now.
A woman at our church, the wife of the Cathedral dean, has pass away after suffering from cancer. She’s about my age, and she didn’t deserve this.
Of course, nobody deserves to die in such a way but Robyn was so nice it seems especially bad. She leaves behind her husband, a son, daughter-in-law, and a grandson.
There will be a local funeral or memorial service, but I’m not sure where she will be buried. She and her husband are from Georgia and that may be where other family/ancestors are interred.
Cancer really sucks, that’s all I can say.

School started today over here too, that means the buses and trains are busier, and there’s more traffic on the roads because precious little Jaid’en and Chardonnay can’t possibly walk to school when mumsy has a chelsea tractor to take them in.
I used to look forward to going back to school, after six weeks I would be getting bored with the long break and wanted to see my friends again. My secondary school was several miles from home so my “local” friends all went to a different school and I didn’t mix with them so much in the holidays, but also my normal school friends were too far away (and too spread out) to see them much without careful laying of plans.
I almost miss being at school now that I have to get up and do the irk thing every day instead.
I don’t understand why I have no problems sleeping over the weekend, but on the night before I come back to work, I’m wired and can’t relax. Dammit. And last night, it was augmented with skeeter bites that started itching with a vengeance. So I’s tahred this morning.
We closed up the house this morning and turned on the air for the one last gasp of summer before another cool week moves in. They’re talking upper 80s today, then low 70s tomorrow. And rain. Then maybe remnants of Irma next week, but if it happens it’ll just be rain, not the pounding that it looks like FL is going to get.
Thus begins another freekin’ day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out and fair with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall spiff da cave today. It’s not too bad but I do need to dust, vacuum, and mop. Plus laundry. Rah.
{{{CupCakes}}} Robyn, her husband, son, DIL, family and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
*Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your
servant Robyn. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of
your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your
own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the
glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the
mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.*
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, onward to cave cleanin’ and laundry. Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all
Try to get kitteh used to the playpen before Irma!
I hear you. My “why the hell am I here?” came in 2004 or 2005 during hurricane 3 or 4 of the year, when the power was out and the house boarded up. It was hot as a suburb of hell, and humid, too!
I’d be the same way, and I’ve evacuated with my pets several times. Now we just have to deal with a lot of snow every so often.
Mornin’ all.
{{{Baker}}} My thoughts are with you and your friend’s family.
Outside of that, fighting with the phone company is on the agenda. Along with rain.
More later. Or less sooner.
