Back to the Future 4?

A blurb in the IMDB Daily briefing.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Fox mentor the next generation of time travelers, but this sounds like a remake.

That seems unneccessary as the original is still very watchable.

Can you believe the first one came out 20 years ago?

Still one of my favorites. Too bad we can’t send MJF into the future for a cure.

I think this would be a mistake. Everything fit together so nicely in the trilogy. You add a fourth film to the mix, you’re just gonna fuck up the space-time comtinuum.

You mean, one of those things that could destroy the universe?

44 would still be younger than the doc was in the first movie (unless my memory is off.) So you could perfectly well have it be a prequel to the other three.

but why would they want to? they’ve been to 1955, anchored in 1985 and visited 2015 (which ain’t so far off me buckos - but I bet we STILL won’t have flying cars by then). As middleman and Happy Lendervedder said, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

Fox is ill. Perhaps he needs the money.
BTTF are the only films I enjoyed him in. Well, maybe Mars Attacks. I really disliked his TV shows. Maybe another BTTF film would be the best way for an ill actor to make money without investing time in a TV series. I doubt that he knows or cares about my opinion.

Back to the Future 4: The Search for More Money.

From Wiki.

FWIW.

Yeah, I can’t get over the fact that we’re now closer to 2015 than 1985.

Hmm, I don’t know if MJF could play Doc, or anyone other than Marty for that matter. He still looks too much like he did 20 years ago. It could work if they anchored the script in the 2015 we haven’t seen yet; the one set into motion by him backing out of the drag race. He could play a Doc like character, sort of obsessed with reconstructing the time machine to change something in the past, or to see real-Doc again (it wouldn’t be BTTF with out Christopher Lloyd for at least a few minutes).
Given his exposure to time travel, it wouldn’t be absurd to think he gets interested in physics; and even if he can’t find funding for the project, it looks like his family is well on their way to being rich, what with George McFly’s writing career.
Interesting, I can’t wait to see how much they surprise/disappoint me.

To be clear for future readers of this thread, the wiki link provided in another post above indicates that it is not true that MJF would be playing Doc in BTTF4.

-FrL-

and that “wiki” entry provides a link to the actual interview

I remember the original trilogy. Seeing how it is close to 2006, some of the “predictions” for 2015 will be wrong.
So would they re-do 2015?

It is obviously a different time line.
(Insert joke here about Biff being elected to public office depending upon you party.)

So much wishy-washiness in that Wiki link. They were going to do it in 1997, but then MJF had Parkinsons. They were going to 2 more movies. Now they’re only going to do one.

What are they? Chicken?

Ahh, why don’t you make like a tree…

Hey! Nobody… calls the Back the the Future franchise “chicken.”

a chicken franchise? would that be crispy fried, or tender rotisserie?

Eh, you’re as funny as a screen door on a battleship.
