Girl has been delivered. And dammit, the Krispy Kreme store won’t be open until next month. Coffee and a hot doughnut would be just the thing right now…
Instead, I shall sleep. Lots of football to watch tomorrow/later today.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Double shift #1 today.
Now, you all see?? *THIS *is a proper response. THANK YOU, my dear FRIEND, BUTTERS!!!
to the decapitators.
Up, showered, dressed, breakfasted, and I’ve got a load of towels in the washer. I attempted to clean the shower with Comet’s version of scrubbing bubbles, but they don’t work any better than the original. Part of the problem is I don’t have the strength to apply the proper force to the side walls down low - I need a scrubbing sponge mounted on a drill pad. Hmmmmmmm…
The kiln is already cooled down quite a bit from its high of 1800+ to just over 1100°. Turns out it only ran 10 anna half hours. I think the 13 hour firing is the glaze firing. It gets a lot hotter, so it takes a lot longer. Anyway, coolage is underway. Yay!
Before 7AM on Saturday, there’s pretty much nothing on TV but infomercials. ick. At 7, the national news shows come on. I turned on Good Morning, America, and the lead story was the mall shooting in Washington state.
(Yeah, man, guns for everybody!!!) Then I flipped over to the Today Show where they led with the story of Pippa Middleton’s account being hacked.
:smack:
I hate those morning news shows. And the evening ones, for that matter. There’s war and floods and all sorts of things going on in the world, but we’ll hear more than anyone ever wanted to know about Brad and Angelina. :smack:
OK, off my soapbox. After I get all the laundry out, I’ll make a trash run. Dunno what else the day may hold, but it’s gotta get better, right?
Happy Saturday!
ditto
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out and sunny with a predicted high of 93 and sunny for the day. Sounds like a good day for some quality cee-mint pond time.
I shall obtain Popeye’s fried chikin with a side of red beans ‘n rice today. The gnawin’ and cravin’ for this is hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! I must have that and a big ol’ bizkit. Hotdawgs shall be dindin cause we want hotdawgs. I should also do a load or two of laundry. Or not. We shall see.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then at some point I should purtify to be seen in the public.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
blurf
Three loads on the line, last load in the washer. Kiln is below 750°. Once I hang the sheets out, I’ll load the truck and go to the convenience center.
Soooooo productive!!
Moooom, you mean something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Quickie-Tub-Tile-Power-Scrubber/dp/B008YRJGBU There are also little ones that run on AA batteries with two brush tips (one flat, one pointy for grout) at Tar-jay. I have something that amounts to a big Scotch Brite mounted on a telescoping handle, no batteries.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to purtify to go to the grocery store and Tar-jay. This is my lazy weekend. ![]()
**Red **- that’s interesting… Must investigate more. Thanks!
Four loads hanging on the lines. Trash and recycling have been dispatched. I need to empty and start refilling the dishwasher. So, now what? There must be shenanigans that need doing.
Popeye’s fried chikin, red beans 'n rice, and bizkit have been ingested. We went there and decided to eat there cause why not. 'Tis all cloudy out and kinda looks like it might rain so no cee-mint pond time alas. OYKW decided on nappage and I just may do that myself shortly again cause why not.
MOOOOOOM you could go wild and crochet or knit while watchin’ Netflix.
Should a person of your age eat like that? :dubious:
Happy Saturday!
It’s a cool, cloudy, 70 degrees. Supposed to get up to 74 today. So windows are open and fan is on.
I found out how to get a good nights sleep, drink half a bottle of champagne before bed.
First wild shenanigan is eating ice cream for lunch.
Well, the coaching part of the day is in the books. No referee (and the other teams’ coach was out due to family, so a subsitute coach was there). The other coach and I (both of us refs) worked the game together as a ‘scrimmage’. We won 8-0 (I have a bunch of guys with big feets) and by the last quarter I had 6 of my 8 field players restricted to our half of the field to keep the score from reaching double digits.
Re-hydrating now, so I can go back out and referee a proper game (with uniform and all) at 1:45PM, just when it should be at the hottest (and it is plenty hot right now). 90F and it is almost October…what the hell is going on out there?
No rain predicted for today. I’m heading out to visit some botanical gardens and have a nice walk.
I hope my laundry dries - as soon as I hung the last load out, the sun disappeared. No forecast of rain, but a little solar energy would ensure the towels and jeans won’t have to have a tumble in the dryer…
I think I’ll empty the dishwasher, then have a little Netflix time. Stoopit sun.
This morning was sweater weather. I adore Autumn.
Nappage has been achieved. The little boy next door (family moved in recently) is havin’ a bday party. There is a huge balloon shaped like a monster truck tied to the mailbox. Way cool!
flytrap the answer is probably not but I did anyway.
Sun is out but I missed going out for my vitamin D fix.
Getting ready to start dinner, cheeseburgers of course. Sah-son - pizza, cheeseburgers, or tacos.
He’s fretting over his English paper, and had me helping him look up synonyms. He obsesses over every word. I keep telling him to chill out, this is the rough draft, just get it down, turn it in, and worry over the details in the final draft.
I talked to my friend last night, she caught her daughter with a needle in her arm. I’m not surprised, I saw the birthday pictures and her daughter looks like hell. I’d never say it to my friend, but I expect her daughter to be dead within 6 months. Horrible to say, but I will not be surprised.
**MetalMouse ** - (from yesterday) I never choose to be a mother, he was a happy accident. Best thing that ever happened to me, and I am so lucky to have been blessed (and I never use that word) with an even tempered, sensible son. I know I won the gene pool lottery with him. He has his issues with shyness, and procrastination, and can be a little lazy at times, but when I see how so many of my friends’ kids are, I am very thankful that I have him.
About half an hour ago, I went to bring in the laundry. Guess when the sun popped out! :smack: FCD’s jeans and a few of my polo shirts were ever-so-slightly damp, but they’re all hung up and they’ll dry overnight. I’ll just leave our closets open.
The kiln was down to 300°, so I turned off the fans and propped the lid open with a small block of wood. Then I turned on a tower fan to move the air around in the studio. Two windows are open. It should be nice and cool when I get up tomorrow.
I’m hungry, but I don’t feel like going to get anything or cooking anything. It appears supper will be white cheddar cheezit grooves and a big glass of ice water. Just not motivated. Maybe I’ll go out for breakfast tomorrow. Maybe not. We shall see.
**FCD **called - he said it’s really hot in Ocala. He sounded tired, and Higgs is still his shadow. He’s coming home Monday, so one more day of family. And one more day alone for me. I don’t think I’m ready to be alone all the time, so he durn well better drive safely!!!
