I had a snack of cheese ‘n crackers. After a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig brekkie even so early in the mornin’ I did not want a substantial N.O.L. but needed to ingest a little sump’n, so that and Diet Poopsie hit the spot. I thought about goin’ out to the cee-mint pond but am a happy bear stayin’ in an a/c cave. I talked with a friend from church and agreed to ush in his place on Sunday so he and his wife can go to PCB to see their grandson. Last time he was up here, the grandson got sick, poor thing, and so his parents took him back home. I would not deprive the lovin’ grandparents of a chance to spoil a grandchild rotten. That would be just mean! 
Got the kids off to school. Boy child has a school dance (2:55-4:15) today. It would be his first. He is as yet undecided. He will decide to go if’n his friends are going. I sent him in with the permission slip and the $2. I told him if he came home on the bus that was great. Otherwise, I would pick him up at 4:15. I’m pretty sure he’s mostly interested in the pizza, snow cones, and the games in the gym.
Anyhoo, I then smashed up all of the boxes and got the recycling out. I chopped up the wisteria that is eating our porch and got that into the green waste and put that out. I have now had coffee and a late breakfast. I will begin putting away dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Ah, glamour. I haz it!
Tomorrow I take the train to CA with my daughter. Two more medical procedures to try and help stop the headaches. Complete anesthesia for one. Fingers crossed.
Metal Mouse sorry about the washing machine. I can sympathize. When I got my new one, it had clearly been dropped from a height (the truck perhaps?). It was very badly smashed up and completely non-functional. It had to be replaced as well. I hope you have better luck with your next unit. Is this the end of your spending spree for now?

Obviously he would steal one while swindling the store to give him a refund. But I’m not Slippery Jim, so I’ve got a replacement coming next Thorsday.
Sunny, yeah, I think that about does it. Window replacement are the next major item, but that is for the spring.
The machine was still in it’s original packing and looked good, it just doesn’t work…

Metal Mouse Have you googled the issue with the washer? Don’t know if it would turn up, but sometimes it’s something easy, but non-intuitive (hold start - cold - permanent press, while chanting the macarena) OR easy as in loose wire that the installer really should have known about, but candidly they’re not well trained. Might be worth a shot.
So one of my other shifts gave her 8 hours notice today. That’ll be 8 in 9 months now.

Sounds like **doggio **must be an evil boss that no one wants to work for. 
I got stuck in a half-hour traffic jam thanks to the county fair. It I’d thought about it, I could have gone an alternate route and saved myself the aggravation. Oh well. I’ve supped and in a little bit, I’m going to load my kiln and get it started. That’ll give it all day tomorrow to cool down, and I can start glazing on Sunday. So yay for that.

*Dammit!! * I was loading my kiln and when I lifted the last pot from the top shelf, its head fell off and crashed. So one less monster for this batch. dammit.
With luck, the firing cycle should be done between 7 and 8 tomorrow morning, and by tomorrow evening, I should be able to open the lid and let it come to room temp. On Sunday, the glazin’ will commence!

I didn’t bug out early this afternoon. In fact, I was the last one out. I had a hankerin’ for Popeye’s red beans and rice, so I took the drive thru for a two piece of spicy with the aforementioned red beans and rice and some slaw (what? if you’re in the Popeye’s drive thru, you have to order some chicken by law or something ).

We had cubed steak, rice and gravy, corn on the cob and green beans last night. Tonight being steak night we has filets, baked taters and salad. Me thinks some chicken is in order for tomorrow.
I sort of feel a little guilty for ditching irk today. I am not sick just puny. And tahred. I rested, slept and watched two movies. Bout to start movie #3.

Tomorrow I’ll be chowing down at the India Fest here in Topeka. I always pig out, because it’s a charity fundraiser, so one doesn’t have to feel guilty for eating too much.
The Greek food festival is in two weeks, but the Fiesta Mexicana and the GermanFest are over for the year.
For a town our size we have some great food events.
