That is a strange sounding, disquieting phrase.
nuts, I think your boss intentionally missed your point.
metal mouse, I hope you parked far enough away from the house to avoid nails in your tires.
Almost done with the usual irk today and will pick up where I left off on a project. On the home front, when I got up this morning, the commode was running just a bit. Jiggling the handle did nothing and when I flushed, it went to running (constantly) even more. I shut the valve off at the wall and called the maintenance hotline. If they don’t get there today, I’ll have a go at it myself. I’m beginning to think that I made an error in living in this apartment. Six weeks in and none of the maintenance issues have been fixed.
Gotta say, I’m with you on this one.
They believed it to be food for a bereaved family.
Little did they know they were about to enter…The Twilight Zone.[sup]TM[/sup]
me too.
I don’t feel good. I wonder if it has anything to do with the six Corono’s and bottle of wine I had last night. I want to go home but I have too much stuff to do.
You are a sick, sick man…

She thought her supervisor had been moved to another position.
She did not realize that many things are moved to many places-in The Twilight Zone.[sup]TM[/sup]
red and flytrap we refer to leftover death chikin as death warmed over.
Nappage has been achieved. Go Me!
red there is no such thing as far enough away to avoid a roofin’ nail in a tire. MetalMouse could park his vehicle in my driveway and a roofin’ nail from his roof would still find a tire. They are teh evil like that.
Yes. Yes, it does. I’m glad you had such a fun birthday though!
I am awake again. Wait for it. I still have a headache! The surprise is muted by the fact that I always have a headache.
Trying coffee to see if that will get me functional enough to get out of the house for a few errands.
Hugs to those in need.
I went to :eek:Wally World:eek: and bought new boots. I also got a haircut. Watching hockey.
Corono? Is that like some off brand rip off of Corona?:dubious: Feel better, though.

Maybe; thing is, I did actually quit a few months back (due to the hours being even worse- same sorta thing but 5-6 days a week), and she was the one who spent ages talking me into trying with reduced hours instead. Also, right now, with all the summer students leaving, we’re actually going to be pretty short staffed as of the end of the month, and she keeps trying to get me on for extra shifts, so I’m actually fairly sure she doesn’t want me out. It would be quite easy for her to get rid of me if she did.
General view of the staff is that she just thinks insane hours are normal, because she’s done them for so long. I certainly ain’t the only one complaining.
Still, I def’nitly need A Plan to get into something better, I am, as they say, getting too old for this nonsense. I did attempt a spur of the moment last minute attempt to go to University this year, which was juuuust too late, so I’m thinking I shall do it properly next year, and get qualifications for something I want to do, rather than attempt to work my way up from barrel scrapings.
I have about half of a Plan; maybe a pl, maybe a pln, so far.

The stroganoff was OK. I’m not sure there’s really such a thing as stroganoff - when I looked up recipes, there were so many variations, the only thing they seemed to have in common was beef and being served over noodles. One recipe used cream of mushroom soup (I refuse to make anything that uses cream of anything soup!!!) one had curry powder, one had red wine, one had white wine, some had no wine, some had no mushrooms… so who knows what I made.
**FCD **is thinking about heading to FL tomorrow so I’ll be without adult supervision till next week. So, shenanigans or chillage?? Decisions, decisions…
Shenanigans!!!
Shenanigans would require some effort on my part. Chillage wouldn’t even require me to get dressed. OK, nekkid shenanigans wouldn’t require clothing, either, but there will be no nekkid shenanigans for me, I promise!
Howdy Y’all! We went to the Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place which was good, but a little bit after I et tummy started to feel queasy. After a couple of trips to the bathroom to egest what I ingested I feel somewhat better. Needless to say I am not at Evenin’ Prayer over to the church house cause elsewise I would not be postin’ right now.
MOOOOOOM best I could ever figure, beef stroganoff includes beef and aig noodles plus whatever. When I have made it, I make a cream sauce and add mushrooms and curry powder to taste. Also a little salt and pepper. Always tastes pretty good. Also I agree with chillage. You have Higgs, Taz and maybe or maybe not Ziva to hang with. What more could you want!
Nuts hope the job gets less nuts and you figure out a whole plan. Goin’ back to skool can be a good thing. Then again I am now a retired old geezer so what do I know.
I won’t have Higgs - she’s going to FL!
I will be making a trash/recycling run, but that’s my only plan so far. Since I’ll have the truck, I won’t plan to go anywhere else, which is fine.
Good plan, nuts! Had I been smart, that’s what I should have done at your age.
When I got home, the door knob lock was not how I left it, so I knew someone had been here. I called maintenance and it wasn’t him. However, he came over anyway. I showed him what was needed, as well as the other work orders I had turned in.
Poor guy! It was his first day here. Apparently, I was the last new tennant from the old manager and when she [del]was fired[/del] left to pursue other opportunities, she took the maintenance guy with her. The interim manager just stapled work orders to the existing ones for a month. The new manager has hired two guys.
We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
I need a drink, or a valium, or maybe both…
A friend (that we’ll call Bob) called me about an hour ago in a panic with news that someone (we’ll call them Oscar) had sent him an email that they were going to commit suicide tonight. Just as I was parsing that, Bob said he was going to call a mutual friend between him and Oscar and hung up leaving me stunned.
Bob just called back and his friend Yogi knew where to find Oscar and was initiating a 5150 intervention - around here, that’s generally a 48-hour involuntary hold at a psych unit. Bob then filled in the added info that Oscar just had a fairly painful breakup and yesterday lost his job for reasons that didn’t exactly sound legal in this state, but needless to say, I don’t have the full story. Whether the email was a definitive plan or just crying wolf, he should be in the hands of professionals tonight.
So how’s your Wednesday going?
gotti, here’s hoping that Oscar will be found safe and sound and gets the help he needs. It does appear that he has some good friends.
FCM, does Higgs know he is off to FLA? And does he approve?
Red and swampy, it appears my car has come through without harm and the new roof is in-place. However…
-
They did nick the Air-conditioning line inside the house (it’s supposed to be an inch off the plywood roofing (per the roofers), but instead was attached to the roof and got punctured). So I’ve got no real A/C and a service call tomorrow morning.
-
Plus they had to remove the Direct TV Dish and while they re-installed it, it’s off-kilter so I have to have someone come out and re-kilter it tomorrow afternoon.
So there are a couple of extra costs…but the roof does look nice.
Gotti fingers and toes crossed for Oscar. I hope it all gets straightened out and he finds his way forward.
MetalMouse I hope the roof issues are cleared up soonest. Is the contractor helping with the final fixes?
