Boo on being timed out. bear. Absolutely on the Gazpacho. I have had good and bad. Never in between. I have made it a few times. Once the color was not just right but was tasty. Once the consistency was off. Other times perfect. Had some at a local seafood place once with crab and sour cream as a garnish. Heaven. This one was one of the best.

Been awake since 2am. I got a load of laundry done, found the dog’s blanket for him twice, and did some straightening up.
Sah-soh has 5 - yes 5 - essays due this week. His geology professor is crazy. He has to do 3 500 words essays and 1 150+ word essay in one week. That is on top of reading 2 chapters, doing 2 labs, and another lab.
Then he has a 3 page essay for English.
I see a lot of bitching and proof reading coming up.
And then my mother wants us to visit her. Like when? He is spending a good 5-6 hours a day, 7 days a week, doing school work. He still struggles with reading at times
I told her to get somebody to drive her up here for the day. My friend in Baltimore said she’d go get my mother and drive her up if she can drive my mother’s car, because she doesn’t trust her van to make the trip.
That could work.
The dryer is done, now I can try to go back to sleep.

I really need to find a new job. I only have a few shifts a week, but I keep getting scheduled in for ludicrous shift combos; yesterday I started irk at 2 ay emm, today I start at 2 pee emm. I asked to not be scheduled on Moandays, as I have my juggling club on Moanday evening, and they kept on scheduling me over it, so instead they stick me on at 2 ay emm 4 hours after it finishes. The boss honestly seems to think this is perfectly fine, and actually laughed when I pointed out that though she did technically not put me on the. I asked to be off, she did it in a way that utterly missed the point.
Not nice.
Spent yesterday sleeping, trying to reset the Ol’ body clock.
I have almost the exact same shifts next week as well.
And the week after (OK, that’s 3.45, not 2).
Plus I’m still skint. It’s really not worth it.

Anyway, I needs to go to the bank, and go to the allotment to pick yummy tomaters. One of these things is a bigger draw than the other, guess which is which? Happy toosdy.
Rumor has it there’s a meeting today to discuss what’s going on at work. Hope so. I asked a coworker of we were getting a new boss, and apparently the VP of Engineering will be our overseer, but we’re expected to cruise along on our own or something.
We shall see.
Meanwhile, I’ve got a pile of crap to do, so that’s good.

The temps are still Summerish here, the only difference bein’ lower humidity. Today I shall mow the back yahd and possibly OYKW’s yahd. Tonight is Evening Prayer over to the church house. Leftover death chikin and some type of vegetative matter will be dindin. Also, my first deposit from Social Security hit the bank just after midnight. I declare that to be the sign that I am now officially an old person. 
Butters that sounds like lots and lots of nummy food. I’m not a big lobster fan but I would have been face down eatin’ my way out of some shrimpies and crawfish pie.

SS deposit this late in the month? Did you pick when you wanted the money or is it somehow related to your birthdate? I thought the gummint did all their money stuff at the same time. Weird.
Soon-to-be-ex-boss isn’t in yet - assuming he’s been let go, I’m surprised he comes in at all. I did notice he’s cleared his personal stuff out of his office. Wonder if his wife is going to take over that office now, or if they’ll be putting someone else in there. Who knew there’d be so much drama at work?
Good morning. I have 4-5 men tearing my roof apart (removing the old shingles) prior to putting on the new, improved roof. They started about 0700 as promised and seem to be making good progress. It’s a clear and sunny day for them, so hopefully they will complete the job this evening. My car is parked outside so that if I need to get away from the racket (and it is loud), I can do so.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today, and it’s raining. I went to the Booster Club meeting at the dive bar owned by a former player. They had Fireball. 
They should do a Materpiece Theater series about it, with Maggie Smith as our intrepid heroine, FCM.

It’s nice and cool outside, it dropped down to 63 degrees last night. Good sleeping weather, once I got back to sleep. It’s a cool 65 now, going up to 85.
I finally went back to sleep around 4ish. I need to wash another load of clothes this am, being that I did towels and sheets and stuff. We have to get groceries today and I realized I have no clean clothes.
Obviously, his Geology professor thinks so Doggio.
FCM - SS is paid out based on your birthday. Sah-son was born on the 16th, in the third week of the month, so his checks came the third Wednesday of each month. I sure wish he was still getting them.

Got the boy child onto his bus. Trying to get girl child dressed and then take her to school. Then I shall probably go back to bed.
For some reason, the cats think this is the awesomemest time of day and are tearing around and generally wreaking havoc. I knew there was a reason I’m a dog person. There is most of a roll of paper towels all over the first floor and half way up the stairs. Why? Cat reasons.

Kitteh going to vet tonight for mani/pedi and rabies shot. I pulled the carrier out this morning. She gave it the stink eye and went under the dining room table…
Used to be that way, now SS stops when they turn 18 or graduate from HS, whichever comes last.
I drag out the carrier about a week or so before the vet trek so Ziva gets used to it being out. She’s tough enough to corner without adding to the stress. Taz is easier - he yells, but we’ve never had a problem picking him up and bagging him.
I was taken aside by one of the company mucky-mucks (son of the founder, brother of the Prez) and told what’s going on. My soon-to-be-former boss was removed from this position because they felt it wasn’t a good fit. He was well-known as a control freak who wouldn’t let anyone have ideas. So they’re trying to find another place for him in the company, and in the interim, we won’t have a direct boss here. The 3 most senior folks will be heading up projects, plus we’re getting 2 engineers next week - one’s a n00b fresh out of school and one has been working at another of the company’s sites.
As we were talking, I discovered that he didn’t realize I am a degreed engineer. I set him straight, but I also said I don’t want to be in charge of anything. I told him I want to draft and I don’t mind doing some design work, but that’s it. He sees things being crazy for another year anna half at least. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I’ll be gone in a bit over 2 years. Barring unforeseen circumstances…
Anyway, now I know. And so do you, if you care. Or not.

MOOOOOOM glad somebody decided to clue you in on what’s goin’ on. Also, as to SS, for some reason I got my first on the third Wednesday for September. Beginnin’ in October it will be on the fourth Wednesday. There must be a reason for that. Or just general screwiness on the part of SS. I’d bet on the latter.
