Bacon Turtles

I haven’t seen a thread about them, so I figured I’d start one. Aren’t they cute? I’m going to have to try them, hopefully sooner rather than later.

You had me at, “bacon.”

I’m a little disappointed. I was hoping they added bacon to the chocolate-covered pecan/caramel candy.

I thought it was bacon made out of turtles. Or turtle flavored bacon.

Is this what fat people eat?

That explains a lot

Me too. That sounds delicious.

I am so sick of people blagging on about bacon. Knock it off guys.

‘Oooh I’m being edgy by complaining about bacon-love’. No. I am just tired of people making out bacon is this fantastic wonder-food when it’s really just a quite nice item.

Vietnamese food, start being bloody stupid about that if you want to do a thing about a thing.

Threadshitting in a bacon thread? You really need to find something better to do.

That’s so 1965-1973.

How about Samoan food? With bacon!

These are so adorable. I couldn’t eat that much meat at once, but I’m already trying to think of some alternative just so I can make little turtles.

(and yeah, I too thought the OP was about bacon and chocolate. One of the best gourmet chocolates I ever had involved bacon and peanut butter.)

I know somebody who made these, only she used gherkins (the little pickles, I may not have spelled it right) for the heads and feet. It was really cute.

Am I the only one who can’t put the ideas of a large lump of meat (including, gag, 3 hot dogs) and “cute” together?

Hey, technically, Devil’s Grandma’s friend used pickles, not hot dogs.

That’s even better. Cuz pickles are green!

And the award for the most nonvegetarian, nonkosher foodstuff goes to…

Fittingly, they kind of look like hearts to me…

I don’t think they look appetizing. Really, hot dogs? Why not just put more bacon as the legs?

Let’s dip them in batter and deep=fat fry them!

Battering bacon? But that would cover the bacon flavor.

We should cook bacon with bacon in bacon with bacon sprinkles on top.

I think because the thinner bacon strips would burn way before the centers were done.

I think the bacon-wrapped scallops still wins Most Nonkosher Foodstuff. The beef and hot dogs *could be *kosher before the bacon hit them. Sure can’t get any less nonvegetarian than the orginial, unless you figured out a meat substitute for the skewers.
