Bad, bad, bad Beck ain't scared of no ghost! (My first night sleeping in the ghost room)

Well now, I was super tired. Too many folks here. Grand kids and pets running around, maybe a couple kids I didn’t know. And one dog I didnt know.
The dog turns out to be my Sister’s new Chihuahua (her ancient disgusting poodle took a notion to go outside and got out there and died).
This baby is just so precious. She’s all white except her 2 hindlegs are fawn. Looks like she has kneesocks on. Of course her name is Pippi
Longstockings.
I grabbed her up when the kids/pets were running around. I was afraid she’d get trampled.
Mid-dau and Big sister were looking for their respective Chihuahuas. I had them all in my chaise chair thingy. I was reading them a book. All eyes were on my face as I read. ( I find James Herriot is always great for dog literacy)

Mid-dau told Sister, "Well, you’re dog will never be the same after this. Ma made my dogs hate me)
Hey, if you have a talent you should use it, for the benefit of mankind and dog kind.
All my pets love me to read to them. Funny thing they really like e.e.cummings poetry.

Enough about that.

How did I do in the ghost room overnight, you might ask. But, just you put on yer brakes.
Let me give a short back story on the room.
It’s the original log cabin, we built the house around and over it. It’s soming like 14ft x 20ft. I thought it was smaller than that. When they got my huge bed in there, I could tell it was bigger. They only thing in my old room is my hugh book case. We’ll figure that out later.

Anywhoo, when it got dark outside. The kids were put to bed. All dogs were in their beds on the floor. The cats were on the headboard. Everything seemed fine and peaceful. No one has ever slept overnight in this room.
It is truly is haunted. I was looking at the cats. They had their heads focused on the far corner. I looked. Nothing.
I reached up and scritched Meekos ears. She purred one little pur. Bear howled. The Chihuahuas woke up and ran under the bed. Betsy the Beagle sleeps under there. It seemed like a a ruckus was starting there. I leaned over and told the little shits to get back in their bed and hush.
Bear had walked down the platform to the end of my bed.
He was now hissing at the corner.
Dang, I’m gonna have to get up and show him there was nothing there.
He immediately jumped down and hissed and spit. He did the jumped sideways and arched back, ears laid back, the weird sideways hopping thing cats do.
I picked him up and put him on the bed platform. I walked to the corner.

Now folks, this might trigger you ghost fearers.

The corner was really cold. Not at all cool outside, it wasn’t less than 95’ degrees.
The AC keeps it cool but not this cold.
Then(scary part …NSF-some believers)
Someone/something pushed me forcibly, pushed me out of the corner. I took one long step, nearly stumbled. I turned really quick, saw nothing. I said “Now you stop that, we have to be roommates. Get used to it”
I got in bed and slept very well.
In my own bed, in my own house.
I did fine.

And there’s the happy ending to the tale.

How did the pets react for the rest of the night while you were sleeping very well? I think I would have been sleeping outdoors if I got pushed from an invisible something.

As far as I know they slept soundly.
The cats do a bit of roaming at night. They sleep all day, so I’m not alarmed by it.
My sister’s new puppy was whining alittle.

Jojo came in thru the cat flap and him and Bear went a bit hissy for a few minutes. Jojo went and got in the bed with Bayliss.

Beck, your posts read like good poetry. Am I the only one who notices this?:ghost:

I agree!

Tonight sit in a chair at the desk!

Why are you sitting in my chair!

Aaaaccckkk.
Dude!

Do you have access to a full bath downstairs? I always feel better after a shower.

Glad your feeling better and back home

I tested positive for Covid yesterday. I’m blaming the 2nd booster I got 3 days earlier.

Feel fine so far. Quarantine is better with CCR rock’n the room.

Have the cats found the creaky spot on the floor yet? Remember any creaks in the night are cats.

No, it’s a great part of why I read her posts. She writes almost musically.

There is truly no such is things as Ghosts.

I dare you to come find out. Truly, I am the only person who has spent the night in that room. Folks says it feels funny in there.
I agree it does feel weird. But I kinda like it.

@aceplace57, yes I have a full bath down here. It’s small but will do fine. Sorry about the Covide diagnosis. I hope you do fine.

Have you thought of holding up a photo of Trump in that corner? Gotta scare a ghost

In this age of expensive energy, can you commune with the ghosts to figure out how they do this cold thing? The technology could be worth a fortune! Or else, hire out the ghosts for a small fee to cool down houses that don’t have A/C! Hey, Beckers, you’re always looking for ways to get rich – this could be one of the best. Your friendly ghosts as air conditioners!

Other than the ghost, that is.

You want to borrow my Ecto Blaster?

You have this magical ability to summon critters in need. Why would it be any different with haints? When I was a kid, I was terrified of ghosts (a terror fed by older siblings), but you have nothing to fear. Ghosts love you as much as Bayliss and Clarence do. I fully expect they’d wake someone if you had a health crisis.

I don’t worry about odd noises in the night; they’re probably made by cats.

If I wake up hearing odd noises and all the cats are asleep on the bed: well obviously whatever’s making odd noises isn’t inimical, or the cats wouldn’t be comfortably asleep.

If I ever woke up to find the cats staring at something I couldn’t see and hissing (which has never happened to me, though apparently it just did to Beck): I could go back to sleep because the cats were obviously taking care of the problem.

(I went through that once for somebody who’d asked if I wasn’t afraid to sleep alone in the house. They said “But . . . what if it’s a real life burglar?” I said, “That’s the dog’s job.”)

Yup. If the power goes off in hot weather, you’re all set. Just go sit in the corner.

No, no, no. Beck has spoken to the ghosts and established that she’s willing to be a peaceful roommate – after which she got a good night’s sleep. Starting a fight at this point is a bad idea.

Of course they’re real! They just don’t believe YOU exist!

Y’all so funny.

Bear will hiss if a butterfly is too close to his gazing window.
Ghosts are part and parcel to his plan for world domination.

She’s already got one.
